It's spot-on about the animal rights activist. Please note, however, that I despise the lengths PETA goes to.

I've seen things in the animal rights and animal abuse sections over at Care2 that are beyond horrifying: kids duct-taping fireworks into a dog's mouth and lighting it, for example. The dog wandered for days, with part of his FACE BLOWN OFF, before someone finally took pity on him and brought him to a vet for euthanasia. The accompanying photo is enough to make any dog-lover lose their stomach contents.

Moderate toward religion? I'm an atheist who recognizes the role religion plays in human society, not only now, but in the past. Sometimes it's been positive, sometimes negative.

Balanced attitude toward humanity in general... I try. But when I see things like the aforementioned travesty that happened to the dog, or environmental disasters caused by carelessness or apathy or greed, there are times when I honestly think this planet would be better off without humans.

Political centrist... pfft. This quiz definitely doesn't take Canadians into account. I'm definitely a left-winger.

And in conclusion, there were some truly stupid questions on that quiz.

These scores indicate that you are a tender-minded moderate conservative; this is the political profile one might associate with a sincere clergyman. It appears that you are trusting of religion, and have a compassionately humanistic attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear neither committedly capitalist nor socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a political centrist.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a eugenicist with few strong opinions.

I don't quite understand the "suspicious and unsympathetic attitude towards humanity" comment. Is that because I answered people should not be so sure of what they believe in? Or I am neutral on foreign aid/welfare and education

It's because the test can read your mind and knows you have killed three people and buried them in your backyard

Meh, pretty generic and boring, with some odd-ball questions.

Wow, we have a lot of university professors at this forum.

I'm still not sure where the tenderness comes in -- I think I got that because I was so harshly against eugenics and bio-engineering...

These scores indicate that you are a moderate progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a university professor. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a pragmatic attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as left-wing.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a centrist with several strong opinions.

Seems reasonable, but I'm getting the picture this is a very routine result :p

But not, apparently, me. Test thinks that, for whatever reason, I'm an animal rights activist, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why.

EDIT: derp, I misclicked on the "blood sports, like fox hunting" question. Now it thinks I'm a university professor. And an idealist with several strong opinions! (Which is still bizarre, but never mind.)

It is ashame that all these test just measure attitudes on topics. Most of us already know if we love animals, believe in god or prefer capitalism. I'd love to see a test on whether or not one has a sucky personality.

Interesting. Not sure I like how the quiz is structured and worded.

I think the test is a little out of date. For country options it includes Zaire and Yugoslavia.
As far as the test itself goes:
Not sure where they got 'political centrist' from given my policy preferences have a distinct skew leftwards. Perhaps because I didn't advocate the complete abolishment of private property?

I kept going, but yeah, this question set off my WTF-metre. So did several others, forcing me to follow this line of approach:

I too, find the PC site to be a much better indicate of my social, political and economic leanings.

    This.

    It's called posting on CFC.

I know I don't like how it is worded and structures.

Now that my moaning is out of the way, here's my results.

This tells me nothing I don't already know about myself, and is, for that matter, wrong in a few areas. Apparently I can change whether I'm a pragmatist or a eugenicist based solely on the answer to a single question, for one thing. I'm also somewhat left-wing, though PC places me close enough to the centre that I guess I could let that one slide. Simply saying you strongly agree or disagree with anything is enough to get yourself labelled as having strong opinions. Terrible quiz. It also doesn't take into account the fact that there are many religious, reactionary and stupid university professors.

    COMPLETE SOCIALISM!?

Same here, wondered why they were merging ideas. If I don't precisely agree that eugenics and nazism are The Same Thing but I think they are flawed, what option do I pick?

I seem to remember another political test from awhile back that had the opportunity to select any number of pre-built options or challenge the premise of the question with additional options, and it would match you to US presidential candidates including all the third party ones. I think that one did the best out of all that I have taken.

I am sorry... an animal rights activist? I just answered on your god darn test that blood sports like fox hunting should be legal 100%. So much for that test :p

Looks like I am the first non-university professor and the first cop :)

I am rather proud of the zero on the socialism scale.

I was immediately reminded about something that happened in Canada back in the '90s. There was a country-wide referendum on the Charlottetown Accord (it had to do with Constitutional change). The only choices were Yes or No. The problem was, there were 5 major parts to this accord, and it was impossible to say Yes to some and No to others. It was all or nothing.

Since I was in favor of increased Aboriginal self-government but not in favor of giving "distinct society" status to Quebec, the only way to satisfy my conscience was to vote No.
