SOLVED - COMODO ISSUE - Win 7 64 bit Civ 4 BTS Black screen on load up for 1/2 hour

I have just bought a ASUS G73J laptop, following specs:
i7 - 720QM
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 1gb Graphics card
8gb ram
Win 7 64 bit pro

Ok game installs fine pathced both CIv IV vanilla and BTS to latest patches from FIraxis website but when going to load it goes through the 'initialising python' 'loading cache' etc status bar and then the screen goes black.

I cannot get access to the computer in this time, cant get task manager, minimise game etc, completely stuck. Out of sheer curiosity I left it on whilst I went to the shower one day and the game had booted once I returned about 1/2 hour later. I tried again and it actully does eventualy load just takes a good 1/2 hour.

No idea if this will happen when im playing and I cannot exit the game, black screen again when I quit.

I tried Civ IV vanilla to see if it was BTS issue but it does not recognise my disc and keeps asking for original disc to be inserted.

I also tried installing and running it in XP Virtual PC mode but gives an error about, something like 'cant initialise graphics card' and cannot load the game.

Have no idea where else to turn for help, could someone offer any advice or will firaxis help me since when I registered it told me I had access to technical support (i just dont know how/where) and im in Australia so hopefully it will be email/online support not $65696787869595 phone call in the middle of the night!

Thankyou for the link, the other I had send me to a dead link, will try them once I confirm I installed under administrator rights.

I am sure I did but will uninstall and reinstall again just to be sure before I hit the tech support.

If I get anywhere I will post back to hopefully help others but from reading around it looks grim!

SOLVED:

For anyone else having trouble who is also using COMODO firewall, try disabling COMODO as this was causing my issue.

I installed vanilla and BTS + patches under admin rights and with AVAST and COMODO turned off. I then ran the game (also as admin) with success. To narrow the prob down I turned on AVAST and ran the game - no probs. Then when adding COMODO my initial issues comes back.

Hope this helps others having trouble.

I tried to add SOLVED to the title so others can benefit but it shows the new title in my post but not on the forum page, if any mod knows how to fix this (adding SOLVED - COMODO ISSUE) to the title it may be useful to others who are as frustrated as I was!
