U can buy all the Rez yourself thus denying it to him, but that can be very expensive. An easier tactic is to sell him ur extra aluminum encouraging him to overbuild aluminum dependent units, the when you DoW his units will suffer 50% penalty making it easy to gain advantage. You can then pillage as well to make the hole deeper and finally not to kill off that unit type completely. Leave them as zombies with 10 or less hp and keep taking his cities.
Works with all Rez types of course, I use it extensively with cavalry, horsemen when attacking it really helps to have all his fast units ( the ones most likely to kill your range units) basically neutered. 50% weaker horse is weaker then comp bow
