Is people comparing Obama to Hitler.

I mean, for some reason I doubt that Obama is going to start up a bunch of concentration camps and send people into them.

Any ideas?

This thread is not likely to make it far. At any rate, the simple answer is people do it as a tactic to promote partisanship and dismiss reasonable debate, as typical with such comparisons. In other words, it'd generally be more about people just not liking Obama and wanting to make that loud and clear than an actual belief in exact similarities.

Anyone stupid enough to compare Obama to Hitler, on this site or in real life, isn't really a republican, but a crafty liberal troll sent to depict conservatives badly. (Well, I sure hope so )

If one doesn't compare their political opponents to Hitler, they aren't trying hard enough.

Of course... Bush was just like Hitler, right?

I think this picture has some relevance:

Well Bush DID invade another country... Whether it was right or not is not the point but he did do it.

well if you use an invasion as reason to compare presidents to hitler.

may I present another president who invaded a country

People who compare Obama with Hitler do not understand where Hitler and Obama falls under the Political Grid (referancing the Political Compass).

Hither is FAR FAR Right of Obama. The more correct thing would be to compare Obama with Stalin.

pssh nothing special. pretty much every american president in the last century has invaded somewhere somehow or another

Well, they both have tyrannical/dictorial rules because they don't have a legitimate claim to power. Hitler wasn't born in Germany, just as Obama wasn't born in the U.S.

Foreigners always bring trouble.

Earthling said it pretty well. You have to understand first that American politics is currently extremely combative, and also very dishonest. opponents are willing to tell any lie because they feel some "greater good" justifies it. And some people are actually stupid and insane enough to beleive the charges.

Omg, do you have to bring up the birther issue. Or do we need to bash your head in so many times till you understand that Obama was born in Hawaii and that Hawaii has been a US state since 1959!?

Im sure the same thing would come up with McCain and his Panamanian birth in the Canal Zone.

Spoiler :

I don't think you recognize my blatant sarcastic trolling. Or maybe I don't recognize you're joking. Either way, this didn't end well.

Yea, torturing three known mass murderers and getting information that saved thousands of innocent lives is definately the same thing as Hitler.

I know, it seems to be a right of passage to "proper" presidenthood;)

I was just trying to show how an invasion is a bad excuse for comparing an american president with hitler, and I chose the one who always seems to be hailed as a one of the greatest presidents(dont know why, but it seems to be the general picture people have)

poland is hitler 4700000 results

Other than the fact that your contention that it saved lives is unfalsifiable, and untrue in at least one case (the info gained was about attacks already stopped what, a year before?) irrelevant; torture is prima facie immoral.
