Sons of Mars (Redux)

Tani, the stats are uber messed up, i can't tell what is going on.

Also, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT GIANT RED BLOB IN BRAZIL?

The columns go Provinces-Infrastructure-Number of Armies-Number of Navies.

I have no idea why docs is being funky.

The Ottomans accept peace from Cyprus.

Our peace terms for Alexandria-Jerusalem is an unconditional surrender.

We promise you won't be annexed if you capitulate now.

OOC: Why are the armies and navies I bought not in the stats?

Remedied. Free navy thrown in.

The Ottomans accept peace from Cyprus.

The Roman Emperor henceforth has instructed the 30 fleets inherited from Cyprus to follow the Ottoman Sultan's orders against the Alexandrians for the duration of the Levantine conflict.

I hate to do this, but I'm afraid I won't have time at the moment for this IOT :(. Is it possible to place my nation under NPC stewardship for the time being?

Orders lock in 24 hours and stuff.

I was actually already managing it for you, so I'll just formalize the arrangement. :)

In consideration of Wars it is assumed by the Palatine that The Papal Wars are by this point pretty much all interlinked to the extent of being indistinguishable.
The Palatine would not be willing to accept a treaty that does not deal with every front of the war. There is no separate peace in France when there is still fighting in Poland.

Any peace that we will agree to must be a lasting peace that is signed by at least The Palatine, Prussia, Burgundy and The Papacy

OOC: I like how everyone thought that the first wars would begin in China, and now most of Europe, Middle East and America are at war while the Chinese prosper. India has also been peaceful, despite how everyone thought that there would be a war there.

The Christosian Empire does not stay peaceful. It waits. :p

From: Scotland
To: The League of Peace and Power

The Scottish government proposes the following compromise on the disputed borders issue:

-The League shall claim the westernmost African claim and American claim;
-Scotland shall claim the easternmost African and American claim.

This shall ensure a fair deal for both parties and allow a peaceful resolution to the border conflict.

Scotland declares that, while being of Catholic faith, it is a neutral power and so shall not be taking sides in the conflict currently engulfing Europe.

The League will ask that you, above all, deem no claimant to the lands of the Haudenosaunee's continent. Our desire to the Old World, our world, is greater than the desire of the New World you hail from. However we are prepared to ask the price. How much in your currency would it cost to... buy our way round this? Would 50 gold do? For all four claimants?

The King of Scotland will agree to ceding Scotland's claims to the American territories in exchange for the League ceding its claims to the African territories.

Scotland would be open to selling the two territories it currently controls west of Greenland. This would remove the Scottish presence from the regions north of the League.

This proposal would thus consist of:

-The League relinquishing its African claims and paying Scotland 50 gold
-Scotland relinquishing its American claims and selling all its American territory west of Greenland to the League

Scotland did not seem to follow: we are buying ALL four of the disputed territories. We need to limit colonial influence in the Old World but we also need to deploy outposts in Africa so that the Great Law of Peace may spread. The 50 gold was a make up for you giving up both your contested claims in America and Africa.

We suggest Scotland notes what we state.

ooc: The King of Scotland clearly is not willing to take the proposal of the League of Peace and Power as it is, and is negotiating for terms that are a reasonable compromise agreeable to its interests, rather than purely in the interests of the League. Ergo, Scotland is diplomatically rebuffing your original offer and giving counter-terms.

OOC: This is the matter between the League and Scotland. You have no need to jump on the matter. Anyway should you not focus on your opposition as oppose to third parties? Scotland has a mouth; it is not located behind your lips.

IC: The League is prepared to discus with Scotland behind doors, so that the agreements can be set between us and not influenced by other actors.

ooc: I already have my plans set with regards to my opposition, although I would note that it would be unwise to assume you know what I actually want. Anyways, as to you, I'm merely noting that your obstinate insistence on getting everything your own way is diplomatically ignorant, seeing as Scotland has the chips in this case and seeing as no self-respecting nation would agree to give more than what it gains in the absence of ameliorating circumstances such as a large power differential, or the involvement of third parties.

Scotland proposes the following compromise in light of the League's desire to maintain an African colony:

-Scotland will relinquish its claims to the American disputed territories, as well as sell its one territory on the continent; the islands to the north of the mainland will remain Scottish. This is a total of two provinces released and one province sold.
-In Africa, Scotland will relinquish its claims to the westernmost of the League's claims, allowing the latter to maintain an African trading post.
-The League will relinquish its claims to the eastern trading post, and pay Scotland 50 gold
-Scotland will refrain from colonizing the Pacific coastline of America as part of the 50 gold payment

In short, the Scottish Empire shall gain one territory in the form of League Kamerun (1 province to Scotland), but shall yield Scottish Canada (3 provinces to Scotland) and its claims to Togoland (1 province for the League). The League will have a net gain of three provinces from this arrangement, as well as ensure lack of further Scottish involvement in the Americas.

OOC: diplomatically ignorant? Why I guess it must be ignorance to try to ensure a deal. That gold could have been used for navies... which could for instance aid the Protestants. Instead I choose to barter, hence making the whole talks private more sense as bartering requires more than two words.

Also your content OOC diverts from IC.

when are orders due again?

Like five hours ago. Better hop to it.
