Title: GREAT NAPOLEONIC BATTLES
Type: Multiplayer Scenario
Category: Industrial
Requirements: MGE
Author Name: W.I.N.T.E.R
Author Email: patricmayer@hotmail.com
File Version: 2.4.1 (MP)
File Size: 7,43 MB
Synopsis: The Age of Napoleon in Colour. Includes up to 7 players with own events & icons.
Description:

***GREAT NAPOLEONIC BATTLES***

or

- NAPOLEON - MULTIPLAYER 2.5 (THE AGE OF)
-----------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------
--- 4 to 5 players recommended, 7 possible ---

This scenario is entirelly (!!!) based on the basic settings of the "Age of Napoleon" one; even the starting positions and basic unit values are the same. The original was a rather long lived scenario, although I have to say that I haven't seen it on the web for some time now. I unfortunatly don't know its designer's name (believe it was Microprose)- otherwise I would mention the maker respectively... Other elements (units, event texts) have been taken from ***John Ellis'es*** "Bonaparte" Scenario.

VERSION 2.3:
------------
- This version- lets call it 2.3 (since I define "Age of Napoleon" as V.1) is thought to be a MULTIPLAYER game- not essentially, though. It still is very fun to play it in a single run- however I added a great number of additional special units to the ones originally in place to add fun for more than just one player.

- Don't expect these figures to appear on ocasions that are historically accurate- I accellerated their appearence so one wouldn't have to wait ages to enjoy i.e. the Tsar (if you take Russia that is) but could plunge into action within the first 20 to 30 rounds.
Hey- we all got a life beyond gaming, don't we?!

Version 2.4.1:
--------------
- Highly updated Icon graphs, Unit Nationalities, Reward Bonus Scheme (for Objective/Strategic Cities taken or Tactical Unit destroyed)

Changed:
City.txt (New colour for Russians)
Rules.txt (Traders become obsolete; Reserves too)
Events.txt (Adjusted $ Bonus for conq. of Paris/London)

Version 2.5 (TOT): [Planned]
------------------------------
- More Special Units, Historical Timeline, Greater Importance of Secondary Objectives such as the capture of specific Units and particular Cities, Maxxed event file, and, and, and...

*drools*

BTW, those last screen shots don't show up - you have to attach the pictures, and not link directly to your computer for others to be able to see them.

Ah, the glory of napoleonic warfare,
I can almost smell the saltpeter!

These graphics are really nice, I can't wait to try this scenario!

:goodjob:

Looks good, can you make some bigger screenshots though? You know, zoom out some :)
Also send your scenario to Thunderfall with all the information when your ready to release it. :)

In the pic with Madrid, your multiflag design has the modern german flag. At this point in time, there of course was no Germany. Not sure about the spanish flag as I dont know much about them. What else could be used to replace the modern Germany flag I wonder? Hmmm...

I want this scenario!
One thing though, are you sure about the shield of that unit in northern spain (basque?) it looks very much like the Danish flag to me...

Oh yeah and I absolutely love those pirate units! :goodjob:

Is the Sweedish flag correct?

Rightly so, at the time prior to Napoleon's invasion of the German states, Germany was actually part of the Holy Roman Empire of German Nation. The "Flag" useable would in this case be one showing a black, twin headed (roman) eagle on a yellow/golden backround.

Napoleon dissolved this boundry of German states and replaced it with the Rheinbund (basically a reformed Franco-friendly buffer state). Unfortunatly there is no info available to me as to what one could use in this case. The modern German tricolour derives itself from the colours of the uniforms of the (actually Prussian and other Germans) voluntary Army that fought under Lützow for the liberation of the German states from French opression- that's also why I chose this (rather easy to fit) flag.

---

There are also alternatives for the Russian Empire one, the Austrian Empire... I'm open for suggestions : )

It is the BAsque one alright (looks like the Danish one but there is a green x-shaped cross on it)... may have to make it more visible.

Concerns Cities' names (and their appearance in the event.txt files)!
There will be an update of some lesser priority files- perhaps even before release date... and if you want I can also make changes to the decor (the Flags; Neutral Alliance art, etc)

It sure is, that flag was created in the 17th century by Gustav II Adolf (Gustavus Adolphus in english) around the time of the 30 years war, so I think its safe to say that it was used during this war as well ;) (and we still use it today).
The coulour should as of the 1620s be light blue/sky blue but that is more of a matter of taste, I prefer a dark blue version which is how most of the swedish flags (all of them?) look today.
