Sound issue.

Hey CivFanatics. I haven't played Civ 3 in 2 years, as it was impossible on Windows 7, but I just downgraded to Vista and installed the game again. Well, I'm noticing the sound is very glitchy, and poppy. The music pops on it's own, if I move over anything it crackles, etc.

Does anyone know a fix for this issue? I'm trying to run it in XP SP2 mode, but it doesn't seem to help.

I have the same problem and also run civIII on vista... I just turn off the music, but it would've been great if someone knew ho to fix this.

Well I may have found a "fix", besides the "xp compatability" mode being checked, I went into permissions, and manually gave my admin account every permission. Apparently despite being admin, I didn't have all permissions, and it looked like it helps. I haven't tested music, but the sound effects work now, as before if I moused over a button in the main menu, I got terrible scratching noises.
