Here is my hand-drawn map of South East Asia. It is slighty disorientated with the Philippines too far East but is still a very good map.

The Luzon Island (is it its name? the northernmost island of the Philippines) is too small. The Philippines archepelago is too loose, they should be pretty closed together, and Taiwan shouldn't be seen on this map, it's entirely north of Hainan.

thanks for the note Eastern Cav, i will fix this for next week (actually ill start a 200 X 180 map). Any hints on resource placement?

Resources..... there's definitely going to be a lot of rubber on Borneo, some of the Malaysian-Indonesian islands, and some parts of Southeast Asia. Elephants on the westernmost part, and some spices on the smaller Indonesian islands and part of Thailand-Myanmar.

Hope the resources thing was helpful, and also the oil, some of them should be placed in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Brunei.
