    so, as I see it:

    - we plan to retake Sicily's Marsala using army.
    - produce almost exlusively units, we can only poprush in OLI.
    - finish tactics to get WE.
    - get ivory for happines rather than NM.
    - try to mm cities for optimum shield output (capital, maybe other also).

it's seems good that Rome has three wars going now. fewer units for us.
after getting ivory we will be able to produce NM - but i'would rather stick with swords for higher attack and then with WEs (which cost 50?).

what about GA? is it initiated with NM or WE victory in battle?

we have rax where we need them for units. maybe we can thing about selling them in 1spt towns with no hopes for more shield output.
i would also consider selling granaries, maybe after some growth - we have just a lot of them.

(that's all read from CAII, well I don't have C3C installed at work :mischief: )

I'd keep the granaries around -- it'll help for pop-rushing. Selling some barracks in remote, corrupt towns would be okay, but keep at least one available in Spain for unit healing purposes. For that matter, I think we should keep barracks in towns where we could start poprushing units in 30 turns or so (but for now, we'll want some workers to irrigate things).

Ok, I got it, save will be up tomorrow. This isn't going as well as we hoped, but we can turn things around.

Scratch that, I just looked at the save, what the hell are we doing?

We need a better navy. Rome will have better units, not ships. I would like to kill off the damn bastards by drowning, not with the sword and spear. I really hope those 3 swords survive on Sicily, if not and the Romans land a legion by Carthage, game over. Who built a totally corrupt city in Spain when we desperately need to build up around our capitol? That is where all our production will come from. The luxury slider is not evil, why aren't we using it. Carthage has an entertainer. There is much more I could post, but I am most definitely not going to play tomorrow, this SG is not going to be like the last one, we need to work as a team, with common goals in mind instead of individual ones.

Please don't take any of this personally, I am just trying to point out some mistakes.

At least two of the swords will survive. Which is enough to give us good odds at retaking Marsala.

The navy is indeed a concern. Two Roman ships were sank during my set, without wounding either attacking ship :). We don't want to waste precious land units defending our core (in fact, an archer landed next to Carthago, but luckily, there was a swordsman in attacking range).

We do need a better navy. We'd need a half-dozen cats to effectively leader-fish the Romans when they land invaders by Carthago.

    Good question

Eh, that's no biggie. The biggie is that Carthage isn't MM'd for 3-turn Swords *and* due to grow in one turn. You can do that before you touch the lux slider.

Careful MM is what separates a narrow Monarch win from a DG victory. I guess I can't really speak for anyone else, but if you see any teachable moments in my turnsets, please do speak up. I can always stand to improve my game.
