I don't think there are any thread that discuss about it in broad sense. What do you want/think it should be in each ideology? I mean, as individual policy, not like "Oh, I want Autocracy tree to buff the military."

I think each of the ideology could have slightly different version of tourism buff. They're having their own way to say "Join us!" and tell it in propaganda-ish way.

Sorry that I didn't post my own. It is past midnight here and I am sleepy.

Tenents, they're called Tenents.

We know of few, we know that they focus on 3 out of the 4 victories available. I presume that those that do not focus on Cultural Victory will not allow for any Tourism boosts. But there might be Cultural boost as to defend from rival ideologies.

I never said TenAnts.

I kinda wish we had a fourth ideology just so my O.C.D would be satisifed (each Ideology would not help with one of the four victories).

Copied from the "What we know..." thread for reference:

Social Policies and Ideologies

Ideologies
- The Autocracy, Freedom and Order social policy trees are now the three main ideologies
- Unlocked in Modern Age or once you have built 3 factories; at which point you must chose an ideology
- There will be diplomatic benefits/penalties for those of the same or different ideology
- Can be changed (though this is not generally advised) but you will have a period of Anarchy
- There will be 15(or 16 there is some conflicting info on this) different policies in each Ideology with three different levels, you will have to unlock a certain amount of level one and two policies before level three unlocks
- The first person to unlock an ideology get 2 free policies
- Each of the ideologies will give bonuses for 3 out of the 4 victory conditions

Autocracy Ideology

- Kamikaze; Allows all aerial units to sacrifice themselves to deal massive damage.
- Gunship Diplomacy; yields +6 influence boost each turn with city states of which you could demand tribute
- Total War; yields a 25% production bonus for military units, which gain additional 15 XP right from the start

Freedom Ideology

- Voluntary army; yields 6 free "Foreign Legion" Units right away (no maintenance)
- Space Procurement Measure; 3-tier policy; you may buy spaceship parts for gold, instead of producing them
- You receive a bonus from building Radio Towers (this may be an opener or one of the Policies)

Order Ideology

- Young Pioneers; +1 local happiness for workshops, factories and all kinds of plants
- Double Agents; Spies double up their chance for defending against enemy agents
- Iron Curtain; free courthouse in conquered cities

We also know that Freedom and Order are the ideologies that get Sciences bonuses, so Autocracy will get bonuses to Domination (duh), Diplomacy and Culture.

I didn't know that the first civ to unlock an Ideology gets 2 free Tenets. It pays to beeline Industrialization.

Well, we know the Foreign Legion is now an Ideology-dependent unit. Do we think that each Ideology will have its own special units? Might there be ideological buildings and improvements too?

The first couple ideas that come to my mind are a Partisan/Guerilla unit for Order (maybe one you can only build during wartime, or one that pops up near your cities when you're attacked), and perhaps a Stormtrooper or something similar for Autocracy.

Order could also get kibbutzim or collective farms as an improvement—bonus food on desert and tundra, plus a little extra gold or production.

A Shopping Mall building for Freedom, maybe?

Side effect of that is that it is also more attractive to pick a different ideology than the one(s) that are already picked if you are second or third to three factories/Modern era. Which helps with the block forming etc.

Taken from the Oxford Dictionary:

tenet |ˈtenit|
noun
a principle or belief, esp. one of the main principles of a religion or philosophy: the tenets of classical liberalism.
ORIGIN late 16th cent. (superseding earlier tenent): from Latin, literally ‘he holds,’ from the verb tenere .

Taken from the Urban Dictionary:
Tanet:
An arab foreign policy
The common practice among Arab males in diverse areas or the diaspora, of using non Arab women for sexual purposes only, while intending to marry or already married to an Arab woman.

I think we all know which one ed beach was referring to.:banana::p

But yeah, I really like the idea of each ideology having their own "special unit" as a tenet.
Stormtroopers: lower the unhappiness when stationed in an occupied city.

I want the science-boosting tenets to be roughly equal between the three trees. (Yeah, that might not happen since Autocracy isn't associated with the Spaceship victory, but I still want it.)

I think Autocracy should get an extra spy, maybe something else too. I think Freedom should get something for boosting specialists (assuming it still has such focus), and I think Order already had something for science related to factories so it can have that still.

PS - If you were going to rephrase the question, should you have used the word "policy," which originally derailed your thread? :p

I suspect they'll copy some of the old ones with possibly different effects.

I really want a COMINTERN tenet - Probably something giving an advantage to coups

I'm struggling to think of a name, but I'd really like something involving Partisans/Guerrilla Warfare where, if you lose a city, something like six units appear outside at the beginning of your turn (not during their turn so, if they move on, they'll appear behind their lines) to use to fight their invading army.

Really what I want is a Wonder for Freedom and special units for Order and Autocracy, but I don't think that'll happen, unfortunately.

For Freedom, how about Radio Free Europe - Radio Towers spreads influence of Freedom twice as effectively against other ideologies. Radio Towers also play R.E.M. songs ;)

I'll think of others later.

I'd like to see a city flipping bonus for Autocracy that reflects the Anschluss. Maybe flipping gets a little easier when you put troops on the border tiles.

I think Autocracy should also get a cultural bonus in a Tenet called Cultural Supremacy.

I also think that Autocracy could get a bonus to archaeology reflecting how Mussolini was a staunch supporter of digging up Roman ruins and Saddam Hussein had Babylon partially rebuild per his own vainglorious notion of what it looked like. Maybe a reduction in build times for archaeologists or more culture from landmarks.

Both Mussolini and especially Saddam Hussein paved over ancient ruins. Saddam Hussein didn't dig up Babylon, he turned it into an amusement park for himself. Not only was he detrimental to archaeology, he can't even arguably create a tourism bonus for the monstrosity he created in place of the ancient ruins because it wasn't open to the public.

That being said, there's a good argument for archaeological abilities associated with the Nazis (and not just Indiana Jones references). The Nazis sent worldwide expeditions looking for evidence of the origins of the Aryan Master Race and objects of the occult. Really, both Indiana Jones and Captain America weren't that unrealistic ;)

I could see Autocracy giving reduced digging times. Alternatively, having Archaeologists be able to defend themselves could be an option. I see Freedom giving better Landmarks from ruins rather than Autocracy.

Random Freedom Ideas (not effects, I'll think some more later):

Court of Human Rights
Civic Virtue
Entrepreneurship
Egalitarianism

Okay. Let me rephrase the question. What do you want to see as ideology's policy that are not already known? What do you think policy in the rest of the tree would be?

As starting point, they are going to reuse some of the existing policies in the three trees as tenets in the ideologies. Total War already is one.

Order

•Opener: increase Happiness by 1 per City.
•Finisher: +2 Food, Production, Science, Gold, and Culture per city.
•United Front: Militaristic city states grant units twice as often when you are at war with a common foe.
•Nationalism: 15% attack bonus when fighting in friendly territory.
•Planned Economy: Factories increase a cities Science output by 25%. Build Factories in half the usual time.
•Socialism: Gold maintenance costs of Buildings reduced by 15%.
•Communism: +2 Production per City and +1 Production for every Mine or Quarry.

The opener is replaced with Young Pioneers, but the other effects might still be in, although with different names.

Autocracy

•Opener: reduces Unit Gold Maintenance costs by 33%, allowing an empire to field a larger military. Receive 10 Culture as plunder for each point of Culture produced in the captured city.
•Finisher: 25% attack bonus to all Military Units for 50 turns.
•Militarism: Gold cost of purchasing units reduced by 33%.
•Police State: +3 Local City Happiness from every Courthouse. Build Courthouses in half the usual time. The effectiveness of enemy spies is reduced by 25%. Your counterspies have a 25% increased chance of catching enemy spies.
•Populism: Wounded military units deal +25% damage than normal.
•Fascism: Quantity of Strategic Resources produced by the empire increased by 100%. All Great Generals receive +2 Movement.
•Total War: +25% Production when building Military Units and new Military Units start with +15 Experience.

Total War is in, the effects of Police State seem to have gone to Order.

Freedom

•Opener: the rate at which Great People are born is increased by 25%.
•Finisher: increase the base yield from Great Tile Improvements by 100% and length of Golden Ages increased by 50%.
•Civil Society: Specialists consume only half the normal amount of Food.
•Constitution: +2 Culture from each World Wonder.
•Universal Suffrage: Combat Strength of Cities increased by 33%.
•Democracy: Specialist Population in Cities produce half the normal amount of Unhappiness.
•Free Speech: 8 units are maintenance free.

Free Speech replaced with Volunteer army. The effect from Constitution is now a Resolution.
