I thought a topic about sports would be a good change of pace for the OT Forum. We don't often see sports threads. Anyone who watches NFL Football (American Football), feel free to brag about your winning team or post about how your losing team was robbed by the Refs or whatever .

Philadelphia (7-3) owned the New York Giants today (4-6). 28 - 10.

Tampa Bay (4-6) lost to Green Bay (5-5) today, 20-13. It looks as though last years superbowl champs are not going to even make the playoffs this year.

Kansas City (9-1) is no longer undefeated, being beat by Cincinatti (5-5), of all teams.

Anyone have any predictions about the Superbowl? At the moment I think it is anyone's game...

Most of the teams expected to perform well this year either had rocky starts or are still not competing. I expect this to be one of the most interesting seasons and post-seasons in many years.

Sources: NFL.com

At the moment,my predictions are:

AFC Championship: Chiefs vs. Titans
NFC Championship: Panthers vs. Vikings

Superbowl:Chiefs vs. Vikings

Superbowl Champion: Kansas City Chiefs

I'm a Steelers fan

BTW, I think that there is a separate sports talk forum.

Don't often see sports threads since there's a Sports Talk Forum. This will get moved, I bet on it!

HOLY CRAP YOU'RE RIGHT BATMAN. I never noticed.

I'm a Patriots fan and I think the Superbowl will be won by the Titans. They will probably play Carolina.

Welcome to the sports talk forum.

:nospam: Not intending to spam or anything, but the link in my sig to another NFL thread has the standings in the 1st post if your interested. I'm just glad there is more NFL fans here than I thought. I clicked on every football thread in the forum and only 2 were American Football. I had to start one of my own. :nospam:

:goodjob: More NFL Threads! :rotfl:

Dallas, shut out agaisnt TB and New England due to untimely turnovers in the redzone, will battle with Carolina and stay atop the East for another week. 20-14 Dallas, woot!

Philly, my most hated team, will fall to a resurgent Saints team that I predicted at 1-4 and 2-5, would get even and make a run for the playoffs.

Cincy, which on the IGN Boards I predicted would lead the division soon after beating Baltimore, will almost have a letdown game at San Diego but will rebound and win, 35-27.

And next year, in an ironic twist, as Maddox struggles again, HIS job will be taken by Ryan Leaf, who had just recently come back from "retirement"!!! *plays Psycho music*

Owens will be picked up in the offseason by a struggling team needing a good reciever to make a run with good cap space...Oakland anyone?

Joey Galloway will be released in the offseason as well, and will be taken by a team for barely a million.

Eli Manning will be taken by Arizona (poor Eli) but just as his brother proved, he will prove that you dont need a defense to win. His Harrison is in Boldin, and his Edge is in Shipp. But they need better uniforms....

Coachs fired in the offseason will be: Dick Jauron, Jim Fassal, Gregg Williams, Marty Schottenheimer, Dan Reeves, and Dave Wannstedt if he doesnt make the playoffs

And Keyshawn will go to Dallas, but for much lower pay, him knowing that he wont get a fat juicy check anywhere and atleast Dallas has his favorite coach and alot of cap space.

AFC Championship Game: Denver vs Tennessee

NFC Championship Game: Dallas vs Minnesota

Superbowl '04 in Houston: Tennessee vs Minnesota

And remember, I called it :D

I don't know if Parcells will take Keyshawn again. Despite the fact that Keyshawn claims his trade from New York to Tampa was not instigated by Parcells, I do believe Parcells was all for the trade. I doubt he will want "the Mouth" back. TO and Keyswan will both go to Oakland. Rice and Brown need to retire and Porter is only so good. The way Galloway has been playing, I think Randal Williams could replace him just fine. We'll have to see this weekend against Carolina. Williams would save a ton under the cap as Dallas uses that extra cap space to sign Dillon.

Dallas will draft a back, like Cadillac or Kevin Jones. And remember, Parcells didnt even want Glenn but here he is playing better than the highest payed reciever in football (Galloway).

Williams is good, but #1 reciever good already?

I think Bryant is going to be moving to #1 by next year. With Parcells keeping him in check, he will be another Michael Irvin or Keyshawn any day. Bryant, Glenn as starters, a rookie or vet RB, Williams as the 3rd, and Witten at TE is pretty formidable if you ask me. I think Witten is the most underated rookie TE in the league. If it wasn't for his broken jaw, he would be getting as much production as Shockey. I think he is about as good and minus the stupid comments. Once that jaw fully heals this guy could be what Dallas has missed since that Superbowl in 95'. Novacheck.
Parcells has a ton of young talent on this team. I don't see him looking for very many veterans except at QB or RB.

Note: I can't claim my spelling is perfect for these names, I just try to make them sound right.

veteran RB's rarely work out (rare case is Stephen Davis) and I still believe Carter can mantain his job as long as he doesnt fully collapse.

BTW, Ty Detmer was the single passing record holder in the NCAA but what happened when he reached the NFL? I dont know much about him...

He played for Philadelphia for a while. he started, but didn't work out either because Ray Rhodes is a bad Head Coach or he didn't have what it took to make it in the NFL. He last played for Cleveland, but I don't believe he's there any more. His brother still plays somewhere. His name is Koy. Maybe Oakland or Philly.

Yea, koy detmer is in Philly, hes the most average QB ive ever seen.

Hello Azale. This looks familiar, just you and me. :hmm: What happened to everybody else?

For sure I think the AFC will win. They look too strong. I can name 4 teams that could beat the NFC's best.
Tennessee
Indianapolis
New England
Kansas City

I think Tennessee wil beat Kansas City when they play in the playoffs. Eagles have to get through the Cowboys first. They look like they are getting better, but so do the Cowboys. And the Cowboys beat them once already.

 I just realized I argued the Cowboys into a Superbowl spot. I must be losing it :crazyeye:

Not that I mind as I enjoy watching Da Boys. And I dislike the Eagles ever since they cheered a player who injured himself and was forced to retire due to the injury. That is inhumane and those fans have made me ashamed to be a fan of the NFL. Then I got over it and became an Eagle hater and Cowboy fan. At least their fans have class.

There were several hundred thousand Eagles fans just as disgusted as you were. Those who were cheering Michael Irvin's back injury were a minority several thousand idiots. Most of us did not. Judging Eagles fans and the team based on these few thousand morons, is well, just wrong.

Out of the hundreds of injuries I've ever seen in football. That is the first time that many "idiots" cheered harder when the man was put on the stretcher than they did when they realized he was hurt. I saw many fans and players alike get upset at those fans. I might be wrong, but I still feel that thoe Eagles fans are more disgusting than any other team fans for that act. I've never heard that many cheers for an injury in my life. I understand that many Eagle fans were not cheering, but it looked like there are more "idiot" Eagle fans than "idiots" for other teams. I will respect your loyalty to your team. I still despise the Eagles and will cheer the Cowboys everytime they play each other. Minority or not, those fans ruined my love of Philly football.
My feelings might be wrong to you, but what is right and what is wrong is a matter of personal opinion. If I am wrong then so be it. I won't change my feelings unless the Cowboys fans act like "idiots" too. That hasn't happened as far as I've seen.
Besides, my cheering against and putting down the organization, can't stop them from winning games.

EDIT: This isn't meant to be offensive, though I geuss it may sound that way. I apologize to those fans that didn't cheer and were upset at the ones that did. That does make me feel better about some of the fans in Philly. That used to be one of my favorite teams. Maybe if I continue liking you Enemy Ace, you'll be able to bring me back around to the Eagles. Your the first fan I have had contact with in years. If you didn't notice where I live, there aren't many Eagle fans that come out of their houses here. I am personally a Patriot fan. And I love East coast football..

NFC Championship: Philadelphia vs. St. Louis

AFC Championship: Tennessee vs. New England
