SSNES: Fall of Wu'di

I must admit, it's nice to have a NES where every player actually sends orders every update. I know many have quite a few lazy asses aboard, and I appreciate the lack of those in my NES. As if sending a set of orders was a hard task at all. :p

Ack!Scissors 61!

..When the rew worm does a flip off Hari-Kari rock. I need scissors. SIXTY-ONE! FISSION MAILED!

So, SS, any general outlines on how the update's looking?

Also, before I leave, take note that your first NES looks cool.

Update's going fine. Going over to bettles soon. Spending for all nations are all done. Musing a bit about the development next year, judging by the situation I have at hand... Only one thing is sure: more war. And more battles to sort out. *sigh* At least I will get my share of killing. :p Not telling, no.

Inside the NES Operation Room 1 (Update Wing)

Minion 1: Reason, Sir, we see the pressure levels on the MMS* dropping dramatically!

Minion 2: Energy levels reaching critical. More calories are needed ASAP in order to maintain optimal concentration.

Minion 1: Great, more nasty news for me to relay to the boss.

Minion 3: Negative. I advise a KITB**-unit to reboot Nexus and rev down to a lower gear. We need more MT*** to stabilize.

Minion 2: Can someone turn off the interference? What is it?

Minion 3: Dunno, but it refuses to budge. I think it may be external inputs that are spawning the disturbance. Something called "music"...

Minion 1: Can I get help with the pressure here? Any chances of reinforcements? What are the chances of a WCOT****?

Minion 2: That would require more energy than we have. Fork, this is getting ugly. IDS***** rumbling. Emergency input, stat!

Minion 1: We have a leak in the ASF******! Ah, it's showing it as cognitive matter! We have a meltdown in Nexus! Someone get out there with a SB*******-gun!

Minion 2&3: Do it yourself!

Minion 3: We've got our hands full! GAA! Look at the MMS!

Minion 2: Sir, what should we do?

Reason: I need a coffee. *walks away*

Minions: NO, SIR, NO! *no* WHYYYYY!!!!

*Motivation Monitoring System
**Kick In The Butt

OOC: :p I'm just taking a break. Relax.

Hey! This isn't the update yet, but my post #900! :D Sorry for fooling you, I couldn't resist. :p

No! Need...update!

What are the odds on getting it in the next half hour?

Slim to none. Are you leaving someplace? I hate when that kind of thing happens.

Yeah, I'm leaving to take a !@$#@%#@$ exam and won't be back for 8 hours or so...

Well, you have something to look forward to, then. And the motivation it brings allows you to muster unexpected energy to finish the exam earlier and you return happy to find the update waiting for you and you will have peace! :goodjob:

Anyway, good luck.

Must cook dinner for myself. Which means frying a few chunks of meat and tossing it on a couple of toasts. :p Will be back after consuming it. (Can't get the key board all sloppy with grease, you know.)

EDIT: Update only needs to be written, that's all.

Update 7 - 2006 FF The Year of Flying Dogs (Most of these years were named by stoned people anyway)

Without any further ado, here is the update:

Western Shelf: Westshire has the plague! After a few months, it became apparent that the plague that ravaged Kulta was unlike any seen before. Rumors tell of tens of thousands of dead Kultans, victim of the new and deadly plague. This calamity has caused a massive emigration rush to the islands of Bralan and foreign lands beyond. Ships loaded with Kultan refugees have tried to land in ports along the Blade Coast, but have not been welcomed. The only reason Westshire has contacted with the plague is through their unregulated trade. Along with trade ships, the disease was shipped across the sea and taken root in the Western Shelf. Now the people of the Western Shelf fear that the plague will spread to the entire region. Already thousands of Shiremen have died due to the plague, and the number is steadily rising. The King of Westshire has decreed that all who contract the disease must report immediately to a physician, and traveling abroad is strictly forbidden. With these precautions, Westshire hopes to contain the plague, if not from their own population, the rest of the Western Shelf.

More shocking news comes from the relatively peaceful Shelf. Bellfern, whose task force was landlocked in Turin threatened the returning Barragh with sacking the capital. Barragh did not care, and thus the city was obliterated. First, the army of Bellfern began looting the city. Soon enough, the public discovered their intent to raze their city, and chaos ensued. In a mightly uproar, the population rose up in a bloody revolt. The Bellfernians were prepared for this, however, and promptly cut down anyone who opposed them. With many lives lost on both sides, the rebellion was finally over when the Barragh returned with his army. After delaying their enemy with nature magic, the Bellfernians killed off most of the remaining civilians and set the city on fire. Then they left in their ships back to the Torinnin islands. The blockade was avoided by summoning the animals of the sea to guide them through the rocks. Still, this bloody act has become known in nearly every corner of the Southern Continent, greatly affecting both the general view of Bellfern, but also the population's view of their leaders (-2 Confidence) The War Minister of Bellfern, Gauvard, may have a bit of explanation to do when he meets the Archwizard next time. Empire: (- Population, -1 Confidence) Bellfern: (-800 LI, -50 HI, -50 HC, -5 A)

Shaemar also marches against the Western Empire. Their act was as dramatic as that of Bellfern, but of a magical nature. The Red Dragon Disciples of Shaemar gathered together to summon a trememdous wind of scorching hot air to blow across the mountains to their east. The wind blew clear through the craggy mountains, and ravaged the Empire lands beyond. Again, the civilians were those who paid dearly. Whole fields and settlements were suddenly set aflame, causing massive wildfires across the region. Some died by burns, other suffocated on the smoke. What Shaemar expected remains unknown, but they were waiting for the results before attacking the mountain pass. Unfortunately, the fiery blast did not affect the defences here, because the Adepts stationed by the Empire were able to dispel or direct it away. Thus, the front remains at a standstill with Shaemar waiting in the plains below, and the Empire not venturing out from their mountain fort. Empire (- Population)

Islands: Felaskhar has yet again fought the Empire on the waves. Concentrating on their defence, Felaskhar was still not expecting the Empire to try again as soon as they did. This, and the fact that the Empire fleet carried the fable Adept Soldiers, tipped the scales in the Empire's favor. The battle was fought close to Felaskhar proper, and the rebels were therefore able to muster nearly all of their defences. Still, the Empire had the edge, and held it through the day. The Felskhar navy saw it wisest to retreat, and left the battle. The Empire army also returned to regroup, and did not give chase. More battles are expected in the years to come. Could it be that the Empire is gaining an upper hand on the waves? Empire: (-40 Carracks, -15 Frigates, -20 Adept Soldiers) Felaskhar: (-50 Carracks, -25 Frigates, -150 B, -100 LB, -10 SL)

Spine of the World: The barbarians of Konahn are still expanding at an insane rate. The truth is, the despot is becoming famous and popular, and many hail him their leader without even being asked to do so. Still, communication is not developing at a similar rate, and poses the greatest threat against Konahn. Left as it is, other barbarian leaders might rise up to duplicate his success.

Steppes: The cold war between the Eastern Empire and Shaba has finally thawed. As Shaba advanced eastward instead of northwards through the protected border, they were met by the Empire army trying to sneak around the same defences. The ensuing battle was ultimately won by the Empire army. Still, there were heavy losses on both sides. The Shabans were pushed back to their former borders, and not much progress has been made at all on any of the sides. Empire: (-750 LI, -250 HI, -700 LC, -250 HC, -5 A) Shaba: (-15 A, -1100 LI, -550 SSSB, -400 HC) Domestically, Shaba has yet again made peaceful expansions. By calling for a national day of mourning for the departed Luxarus Crowfort and the death of many innocent Karaim, Shaba is closing their nomad neighbours with greater understanding and respect. This has enabled them to expand further, accepting the last of the Karaim inside their borders. The remaining Karaim are petty barbarians and outlaws who are not welcome anyway, and post no major threat to Shaba. This marriage between nomads and city-dwellers will be remembered as a peaceful conquest in a time ravaged by war.

Lirkland: Galadinia has decided to retreat entirely out from Rollux to face the greater threat that Pashawan poses. Rollux has taken back most of the lands formerly theirs. The eastern front is bloody on both sides. Pashawan's army, in their unsurpassed confidence, marched straight for the Galidinian cities. There they were met by the concentrated defence of the Galadinian army. It was a long and tough battle, with no clear victor. Pashawan was defeated, but the defence was concentrated in the central area, and Galadinia lost two other cities while the battle raged. This might give Pashawan the advantage they need to crush their enemy. Still, what is happening back home is unsettling the generals... Pashawan: (-3250 LI, -500 HI, -950 WH, -550 HC) Galadinia: (-2450 LI, -900 HI, -1250 LC, -350 KoG, -200 B)

In Pashawan, the mad King hardot IV is dead, assasinated by one of his officers. The assasination and shift of power went startlingly smoothly, as if everyone was just waiting for something like that to happen. The new king of Pashawan is Trybalt I, and is reputed to be an intelligent but untrusting ruler. Among others, he is regarding the Triad of the Eastern Empire with great suspicion. he is an outspoken enemy of the Empire, and his ascension is expected to have great consequence for the future of Lirkland and the eastern Blade Coast.

Rollux has proclaimed an alliance with the Eastern Empire. Rumors speak of their disappointment in their former ally, Ramon. Others suspect the Triad to have meddled with Rollux' war with Galadinia. Others still claim that the Death Adepts of Rollux are all agents of the Triad. Fact remains, Rollux has allied with the worst enemy of their former ally. This will most likely cause the tension between them to rise, quite possibly to open warfare. How Ramon reacts to this insult remains to be seen.

Heartlands: Delenlor has asserted firm control of the Academy of Life. A garrison is stationed in the city to keep it from enemy hands. Ramon has abandoned their claim of the lands, at least for now. The Ramonian army is currently enjoying a much merited rest. With their easter front new secured, and the western front taken over by horus, Ramon no longer fights on their own borders. There is still the matter with Rollux, of course. And their friendship with Delenlor is also a bit shaky, especially after a Ramonian agent was captured near the Academy of Life. TTTensions are beginning to rise, and the common cause to fight the Empire is beginning to diminish. Will Delelnor still give honor to their agreement to share the Academy of Life with Ramon?

Horus still fights the remains of the Western Empire valiantly. Armored with new Frost Armors, the army of Horus marched south to wage war against Semnon. They were met by the Prince himself, and badly outnumbered besides. Still, the Horusians decided to battle, with a special goal in mind: to try to isolate and capture Semnon. They were tremendously lucky: instead of supervising the battle from behind, Semnon had decided to march in the avant garde himself and strike terror in the rebels. This worked tremendously well, until he fell off his horse that was tripped by a Horusian spearman. The brave warrior then sliced the head of the Imperial Prince clean off, and wrapped it in the victim's cape. Then he sped away on the Prince's horse back to Horus. The Horusian general received news of this great achievement, and called his army to retreat immediately. It was not until the day after the battle that the Empire army found the decapitated body of their general. The army was left behind their strong leader, and is on the verge of collapsing as a result. What is more surprising was literally uncovered by Seth Dethos himself. For what Baldrick presented him was the LIVING, THINKING AND TALKING HEAD OF SEMNON. The Imperial Prince had recently made himself immortal by becoming undead and embracing unlife. What more, his soul was still imprisoned in the skull, and taken directly back to Seth Dethos. the daring spearman named Javert is expecting a promotion for his commendable work. The importance of this event will likely be known to the world in due time... Empire: (-550 LI, -200 HI, -300 LC, -50 HC, -50 B, -50 LB) Horus: (-2450 LI, -500 B, -30 RotS)

A cold weather is beginning to take a grip on the southern lands. Chilly winds come down from the Spine of the World even in summertime, and crops are failing in the southern lands. This change of climate is as mysterious and deadly as the plague, and Westshire is experiencing the hardest times in it's brief history. As the winter is reaching it's apex, snow is piling up in the mountains, rendering travel impossible. The eastern reaches of Westshire is completely cut off from the far off capital Solopolis. The usual winter chills in the Steppes are also harsher than they have been. What is causing this disturbance is unknown, and wether it has come to stay is impossible to say...

Right'o. Sorry for being late. I always use much time on my updates, and I believe that's what makes them as good as you say they are. :p Anyway, I'm glad I have few players to work with, and good players besides. :) Thanks, everyone. I know it's the player's privilege to play in a NES, but I think MODs should show their gratitude once in a while as well. :D

If you do not return control of the Citadel to Ramon this year we will consider you as enemys of Ramon.

As a first step we would cut trade with your nation.

Understand that this matter is of greatest importance to us.

Make your choice.

Spendings updated. Now for the losses...

Jesus Christ godamnit,2450 casulties ahhh damn!I'm gonna have a chat with that semnon bastard.

OK, I know there' s some errors there, particularily in the population. The map doesn't match the listed population, and the only way to fix it is to add/take away cities according to what is says in the stats. I hope I haven't screwed up too much, but it's still a pain. :(
