As for Nevsky - this guy played a HUGE role in preservation of the Russian culture and nation at the time. He is like Dmitry Donskoy, Minin and Pojarsky, Suvorov, Peter the Great - a great man whos deeds saved his nation. It is kind of important to us here.

Never crossed my mind. Need to check the Russian sites for that. Comparing Stalin to Pushkin is indeed strange at best as well as putting Makhno on the list of "Greatest Russians".

OP is wrong: (More than 50 million people voted by phone, the internet or via text messages in the poll held by Rossiya, one of Russia's biggest television stations.) The total number of votes is under 5 million and we all know how easy it is to vote on the internet. Conclusion: idd who cares about this pole?

I am sceptical towards the OP, not this particular poll. I would not call Alexander Nevsky the greatest Russian, but I am more or less satisfied with the 12 nominees. They certainly deserve a place among 100 greatest Russians of all time.

Exactly. He was rational - destroyed those in the way. A lot of people do that. Hitler was after physical extermination of people based on blood and nothing else. Stalin did irreversible harm with his policies, but it doesn't mean that he was a blind monster.

And this ladies and gentlemen is BULL. Russians and Georgians, while having their problems are both Orthodox countries with people that mostly have their heads on straight. Friendship between people of our nations lasts for many hundres of years. No Sashkavilli (or other Presidents) are going to change that. So, with regard to despising: shut it.
