Be patient it's my first game hosting! At least now I have a cool picture!

Currently planning on 48/24 day night, end of phase at 4pm PST, with a twilight chat for an hour after voting is closed, but no night chat. This may still be open for discussion in thread if you have a complaint or observation.

This being my first game, just in itself, could turn this into one of the all time epic hilarious fails, and of course you want to be part of that!

On the other hand, in my little handful of games people seem to have a pretty good time playing with me, so you just never know...this game might turn out to be one of the greats! I'm on sort of a beginner's luck roll here!

Post in thread if you are in and any start time suggestions or constraints. A list of players who are already in appears in the third post below.

Well, more quickly than I expected we arrive at a prospective launch date of Feb 17th. I'll still try to account for any constraints a new crew member signs on with so don't consider that set in stone or an insurmountable obstacle.

I really need sixteen players minimum, so bring a friend! Notice the word minimum. More is better.

Starfleet General Orders and Regulations
(Rules)
I. Obey the regulations of Starfleet.
(A) Adhere to the Forum Rules. This is required.
(B) Follow the rules of the game.
(C) The host reserves the right to be a ruthless killer.


II. Once you say something, it cannot be unsaid.
(A) Do not edit your posts. If you edit a post, any votes in it are invalid and ignored. Violations could result in being mod-killed.


III. Observe the changing of time.
(A) This game has 2 phases: Day and Night.
(B) Day is 48 hours total, and Night is 24 hours.
(C) During the day, vote for who you think is part of the Mafia. (or confuse the Town if you are part of the mafia!)
(D) During the Night, any and all people with Night actions should PM them to me.
(E) You are allowed to talk in-thread for one hour after the final lynch vote tally is announced, after that there is no night discussion allowed.

IV. Secrets may not be copied, or shared.
(A) Due to the unusual circumstances aboard the Enterprise, THERE SHALL BE NO ROLE CLAIMS. Klingon weapons driven by advanced AI are in play and will kill role claimers on the spot. Speculative discussion regarding roles is heavily discouraged. Guess all you want, but keep those guesses to yourselves. That Klingon AI might use what you say to identify your officers and kill them on the spot.
(B) You cannot take images of your Role PM, quote it directly, or quote Mod PMs. You may not copy the images provided in the Role PM.
(C) You may not communicate to anyone outside of the thread unless the host specifically allows you to do so. You may only communicate via the method prescribed.
(D) I, as GM, reserve the right to remove anyone from the game if they try to break these rules.


V. The guilty shall be voted for.
(A) Votes should be cast in the vote: Timsup2nothin format. Unvotes are not required, though obviously allowed. Unvoting without a new vote counts as Abstain.
(B) Abstain is allowed. No Lynch is not allowed.
(C) Feel free to point out any mistakes in tally you think I've made. That doesn't mean something else might be affecting them, though...
(D) Tiebreakers result in sudden-death lynches - the first person to reach a plurality after the end of the day phase will be lynched.


VI. Know your role. Use your role.
(A) Star Trek Mafia includes:
- Town (The Enterprise officers and crew)
- Mafia (Klingons)
- Third-Party (???)
(B) Everyone will receive a role PM.
(C) Any and all abilities you start with are in your Role PM.
(D) To use an ability, send me a PM with your target.
(E) You may or may not receive a result PM for your night action.


VII. Work to achieve victory.
(A) The Town victory condition is as follows:
- Eliminate the Klingons before they accomplish their objective.
(B) The Klingon's objective does not require complete elimination of the town, although killing everyone would get it done. Conversely, under certain circumstances the officers and crew of the Enterprise may be able to snatch victory even if they have mislynched at LYLO. If the situation is hopeless I will let you know by declaring a victory for the Klingons without grinding through them killing everyone, but do not despair unless I let you know you have lost.
(C) Other alignments have different victory conditions.
(D) Achieving your team's victory condition will make you win, even if you are dead!


VIII. A dead player is... dead. But there are still things you can do.
(A) When you're dead, you may make one BAH! comment. Otherwise, please stay quiet. Do not PM other living players (about the game).
(B) Dead players will receive a QT link giving them early access to the afterparty, where we will be playing games and making fun of the players who are still playing. While it would be understandable, players are encouraged not to get themselves killed just so they can get there.


IX. Don't get replaced.
(A) I will replace inactive players as I see fit. This is all left to the host's discretion.
(B) If you wish to be replaced, let me know by PM, and I will try to find you a replacement.
(C) Please be active. It kills the experience of the other players if you're not.


X. The moderator can pass laws anytime he wishes.
(A) I reserve the right to, at any time, change one, some, or all of these rules simultaneously if I believe that it is necessary to the game.
(B) Hopefully, a rule change is not required. Nevertheless, I will be as fair as possible if one must occur.
(C) Note that many abilities within the game are preset to follow a mathematical formula that will change them as the game progresses. While these do not constitute a "rule change," they may cause noticeable changes in the game situation so I thought you should know.

I actually want to participate but I'm working super long days, every day through next weekend, and then I'm on a 4-day vacation. The week after that I should have a lot more free time and would like to play. Please ping me then.

It can be long-ish, like over a week or two, depending on how many active players we have. Right now, not much. :)

The lead time involves rounding up sixteen players, which is like herding cats.
In if it starts after 16th.
If not, make me a reserve.
So we will shoot for the 17th and count Pzelda in.

By the way, 16 is a minimum but more can be added easily so don't worry about overshooting.
