Starship Troopers, God, and Revelation

In John's Revelation the New Testament tells us something like a mountain will fall out of the sky followed by a falling "star" called Wormwood. I suppose this will be part of God's "judgment" so to speak, but I find it interesting that here we are trying to figure out ways to divert asteroids when God might be trying to divert one into us

Or maybe God knows one is headed our way and may or may not divert it for us...
Or maybe God really is a trinity (check Sumerian cosmology for the original "trinity") and the 3 entities dont always agree and 1 might be covertly helping us (like in the Mesopotamian Flood story).

Now I figure our ancient ancestors knew about chunks of rocks falling out of the sky, but a mountain? It was a mountain that hit us 65 mya. What do y'all think of this story in the Bible (John ch 8)? I think there's a big chunk of rock out there with our name on it...
