No no and no. I'm not exaggerating anything. You've said it yourself, you want to contain Chinese aggression. Point me something China has done recently that's been aggressive, and don't say the war against the Germans, we didn't knwo who started that. Who's jealous of who?

The Term is soon over, and I wonder what is game is turning out like.
Maybe we should just sit it out and let the turns fly fast by. we know by now what the tendency goes like, and I see no need to plan much more.

If you want a more interesting game, hope that a war breaks out between the AI countries. Then we can do some peacekeeping!

This proposal was about an INTERESTING and strategic way to do so. Forward bases gives good drama and good results. Watching a ship cross the ocean is tedious.

Yes, it is kind of dishonorable to watch a tedious galley cross the ocean, just to come too late for what we polled the ship to do.

ummm abstain, first of all no 'other' option, second no 'none' option, third its slightly bias, fourth I want to keep it the way it is, and fifth its a private poll for policy!!!! (check my new sig ;) )

No, it's kind of dishonorable to prepare a country for war and "blaming" China for aggressive actions, when we are the ones doing the aggression.

lol - the entire structure and wording of the poll is sending me into gales of laughter. Unbiased? All popular options? Decent poll? WotP? This poll managed to miss all of that! Truly an accomplishment!

Sigh - any of the "old-timers" feel like running a Polling 101 short course?

And yes, this poll should have been public.

Nah - this poll should have been, per the GAPS (Generally Accepted Polling Standards), public. While I object to public polls, I do recognize the convention that has been adopted. This poll had to do with public policy, was not an election or a judicial poll.

Nothing eccentric about being biased, it's just that when bias is ingrained into polls is when the problem rises.

I take offense with the operation name. That is the most propagandist bull**** I've ever heard. :p

    Except for Iraqi Freedom.

Oh, and I salute the clever little **** who came up with making "no" abstain so it would happen even if the people absolutely hated the idea. Karl Rove would be proud.

Seeing as how Abstain/No has the majority, if these actions were implemented I would have to call for a CC, Judicial Review, and general hell.

Given the stipulation that Abstain == NO, I vote abstain.

A most unusual proposal indeed. It might make sense if we really wanted war with China or if AIs were programmed to recognize the presence of troops from a powerful nation stationed in a weak nation's territory, but neither one is true. And a MPP with two weak countries would drag us into a war against one of them on the side of the other if they start fighting each other.

There is a variant however where you gift each opposing civ a city on an otherwise deserted island (all on the same island) just before you wipe them out, and then try to keep the remaining baby civs from killing each other while you rack up points milking it out to 2050. :)

i have tried things like this heaps of times i my games. My favorite was when i was america and japan attacked the small greece. The same turn as they declared war. i paratrooped a wall of men so no japense troops could get though. If America was our allies i would vote yes. if china was our enemy i would vote yes. but there not if we send troops into america. then america will get angry at us.
