Stop advisor popups

Is there anyway to turn off the advisor popups, such as the common popup suggesting I build a settler.

Sounds like the very first option on the Ctrl+O menu:

Though I've had it disabled for so long that I wouldn't remember if settlers are frequently recommended.

Thanks, I'll give that a try but hopefully it doesn't stop the Sid's tips that are shown at the bottom of popups when choosing what to build.
