Strange Crashes to Desktop

Heya,

My friend who plays with me is getting weird CTDs at apparently all times of the game. I had her turn on logging, but am not sure which log is relevant in debugging her game.

We've gone through and updated video card drivers, sound drivers, verified the game cache, and it still crashes at fairly random intervals -- anywhere from 3-4 turns in to turn 200+ -- whether she runs the game in DX10 or DX 9. System near as I can tell blows the minimum reqs out of the water.

It crashes whether she runs mods or not.

Would love some help figuring out the problem, since she got the laptop in part so that she could play Civ V.

I have these logs but am not sure which ones are useful to share. Any help is greatly appreciated. We're knocking our heads against the bricks here. =)

Happens to me also, both on my PC AND my steam machine. Happened on my 2 previous PCs and now on my brand new one with a top of the line graphics card.

I don't know why it started doing it early last year. Was working fine for years then suddenly one day it started crashing randomly in a game I had been playing for a while so there was nothing new in the saved game that caused it.
