Been playing this game and Toku's been surprisingly powerful AND nice. He's been #2 in score, production and tech behind me most of the game. He's also got the most land towards Domination from his many (quite succesful) wars, even overseas! To top it all off he just asked me to sign on to a Defensive Pact with him and I was like damn I gotta post this screenie, I've personally never seen him do all of these things in one game (let alone one or two, lol).

he seems beheind in tech , hes still at industrialism.

If you manage to break the ice in the first place and get some relations going, Toku is extremely loyal Ally. In most cases however it's easier to just hate him, like the rest of the world does :D

I've seen this too. In a previous game Toku won three early wars and therefore founded his empire in about half a continent. After that he just kept researching new techs and were in front of me the whole game. He also got a huge army, which is normal for him. But in techs he usually don't get far. I love the way civ just keeps impressing me ;)

Guess the only way Toku can get in front is trough conquest. It's like a be or not to be for him to win wars early... :)

I have found it depends if you meet him at the right time. You need to have alphabet so you can trade techs. I think it helps if you don't both have a state religeon yet so you don't get the minus for heathen religeon. He will start off with open borders redded out. Offer a tech trade that is heavily in his favour, if he accepts open borders will be on the table. Get open borders and he will be your best friend forever. Or just kill him :goodjob:

This is an accomplishment. Open Borders and being Friendly aren't normally enough - being on the same continent makes you look like a target to Toku most of the time. I had a good friendship going with Toku early in my last game - then I vassalized his other target and he declared war on me a few turns later. He was still pleased with me until I started razing his cities :mischief:

Not true. Last game we had the same religion, open boarders and he was pleased, and suddenly he declared war on me. No reliable friend whatsoever. Took his empire, and when he only had 1 city left he became Vassal of Kyrus - no capitulation, I suddenly was at war with Kyrus and his other vassal. Toku wouldnt stop to annoy me

Maybe I was just lucky and found him in a good mood then lol
