Strategy Help please

IF anyone could help me with a genius winning strategy so i can finnaly win the game i am playing i would appreciate it. I am playing Chieftian (I know im a looser) anyway i am with the Spanish (custom civ) and i am trying to take to Japs that have all of Australia. I have varius cities along Asia and Africa almost all of Europe and a lot of cities in the Americas. I was planning to beta the game peacefully 0 wars, but the japs started takking my Asian cities so i got mad and fought them. Evrything went well until i got into their continent. I have like 0 supply lines I have no way to send a lot of armys since my boats only carry max. 3 units plus they love to SINK my boats. IF anyone could help out with a startegy to wipe them off the face of the earth i would REALLY appreciate it.

Sounds like you're in a tight spot...

If Japs have even one city on the same continent where you are (Asia, America), take it. That WILL draw their attention. At the same time, build up an invasion force elsewhere and make a concentrated attack to one of their smaller coastal cities in Australia. Conquer one city, immediately buy a temple and a library to prevent flipping. Make peace if they agree. Once you have a foothold in Australia it should be easier to move in more troops.

That's the best I could come up with.

I dont know what erea you are in so my help may or may not be help full.

oh and did you consider the possibility of creating a large naval force entirely for eliminating thiers? I find large navies to be extremely helpful on almost any map as they allow different attacks that the comp. never figures out.

I tend to consider myself a strategist, but i cant do a whole lot unless i c a map. If you would like to send me one i would be happy to give more practical help. If you do make sure you tell me where your main army is and where you percieve thiers to be. My address is foster52@ectisp.net

Hey, um... you guys should find a different way to abbreviate "Japanese." The word "Japs" is a racist slur.

I didn't even know that the abbreviation "Jap" is offensive. Sorry if I offended any Japanese spearmen out there. I know for sure that things may heat up in the middle of the night when things are not going your way and at that point you invent all kinds of names to the stubborn bastards stepping all over your borderline.

I would like to disagree with Bobby Lee on the concept of nukes; while they may be fun to use on the lower difficulties when you have a tech lead, if you are playing on Monarch or higher, the other civs will have nuclear weapons as well at the same time. The AI civs are smart enough to adhere to nuclear deterrance, but if you are stupid enough to set off a nuclear war expect to be punished. I have never set off a nuke without every civ in the game immediately launching theirs in repirisal and declaring war on me (hmmm, kind of like the real world...)

If you want to make yourself a rouge state go ahead, but don't be surprised if the AI responds in kind.

Ugh Nukes are defintely a last resort desperation tactic to prevent an impending defeat.

Hey guys -

I know you weren't trying to be racist when you abbreviated "Japanese" as "Japs." By the way "Japs" is a racist slur going back to World War II, when (of course) America was at war with Japan and tensions were high between Japanese-Americans (many of whom, on the West Coast at least, were forced to live in internment camps in Utah and Arizona and so on during the course of the war) and their white neighbors.

I think you answered your own question. Concentrate on building up your infrastructure. Maybe stop the war on your continent, atke the cities that are close, and retreat and fortify. Go back to peace, build up your navy, and attack when you're ready. Fight your war on your terms; don't fight on their terms unless it's for homeland defense. Take 20-30 turns to build up culture and economy, and then continue your conquest.

ok for starters i didnt know that Japs was racist and im sorry if i offended anyone. But when they are atacking u u dont like them very much. I am happy for your help i now have half of Australia, i really cant mess it up now, i build myself a fleet from africa and attacked them two ways, from africa and asia (I love having a LOT of cities) that way i closed in and my African boats sunk theirs since i was building an attack army of Frigates from Africa to sink them (im in middle ages cant nuke them yet) and a carrier army of Galleons from asia to actually bring in land units. thanks ya'll for the help and the idea of making a fleet that saved my game. they were able to take one african colony city but i can take care of that after i kick them out of their conitnent. Again i am sorry if i was being racist but i would like to know what abreviation is NOT racist couse writing Jappeneese all the time is too long. And by some of the strategies i got here, well theres a lot of u who i dont want to play against when the multiplayer comes out.

I am re-opening this thread, Even though "Japs" sometimes can be offensive depending on how you use it, it's clear that people use it as a shorthand on the forum and not intended to insult anyone. I hope everyone can see that.

Thank you very much Thunderfall, I had no idea that Japs was racist and i have no idea how a peaceful post asking for game help turned into a quarrel about racism, which had nothing to do with the topic and was never my intention to bring up. But at least now varius of us (me at least ) know that japs is racist and i for one will not use it anymore.

I think that "offensive slang" and "disparaging term" make it pretty clear that "Japs" is considered derogatory.
