Stress

I don't stress. I get annoyed at things, such as the computer or other people, but I don't stress. It's strange, I can have a major assignment due the next day that I haven't started, and I still won't be stressed out about it. People tell me I'm the most laid-back guy they've ever met, which is weird, because I've never thought of myself as laid-back. I just don't let things I can't change bother me, and if I can change something that's bothering me, I do so.

Do some work that you have been putting off....the sense of accomplishment will make you feel better.

I second this, as putting off things is where most of my stress comes from to begin with.

Although if you have a different source of stress... eliminate the source.

Mirc I think you're confusing stress with being under pressure. Stress usually makes it harder to get things done, because you over-react, while being under preassure forces you to get things done quick and effective.

I was thinking more of a mixture of both, but to be honest I've never really made a complete separation of them. :) I do think my way of thinking does work for stress too, not just for being under pressure.

It's all about maintaining perspective. Remember all that is good in your life, and focus on that. I'm not saying you should completely disregard the problems you face, but it is possible to solve them calmly, efficiently and with maturity.

Most commonly, from what i've come to notice, is that most stress is all in your head. Matter of fact, probably the vast majority.

There is something on your mind and you need to resolve it, before your mind will allow you to rest easily. I find when i have been too lazy my body starts to lock up, i get aches and pains and can't concentrate for long. This is a sign that the body needs exercise to releave the stress that has built up in the body over time. The exercise can be anything from running, swimming, boxing, or even Yoga, anything that will allow your body to release this stress from the body in a controlled manner. You see the body uses exercise to facilitate the minds stress hormone, which build up over time. These hormones that tense up the large muscles groups, allow the muscles to relax after a good workout.

This sounds like some good advise :) thanks.

What else can I do. I keep working.

This and a supportive girlfriend work miracles.

Of course, for me there is no substitute for prayer and scripture study. They kill panic attacks like nothing else, and leave me feeling really positive and comforted no matter how dire my situation.

The easiest way to take out stress, I’ve found out, is to beat the turds out of someone in Tae Kwan Do class. Its really invigorating. :)

For me, stress is only caused by large essays due the next day that I haven't started. Normally I go to bed, wake up at 2:00 and then do it. I find that you can't be stressed when you're tired :)

That's the only thing I've ever stressed about in my life so far. Yay me

Guitar. Jam. Play loud, when your neighbor comes over and tells you to stop, get louder, watch them come over and over again, the control over there emotions is amazing and very stress releiving. Of course..Im a little bit older now.

Sometimes the best way to release stress is to go into a room where you can be alone for a while, bury your head in a pillow, and cry. You almost always emerge feeling much better, and with a much clearer head about things. I know it's not what our strange modern perception of "manliness" is, but I really don't care. Sometimes, stress is emotional, and needs to be released emotionally; some people explode on others to relieve stress, its simply a different avenue of emotional discharge.

music is the biggest thing for me. it really calms me down...but also going to work at the restaurant calms me down. I dont know why, it's just you have to do something all the time...but then i sleep every once and again..

When I said music I also meant this song.
