Quick question.

I think the answer is yes but just to be sure.

Are the *.xls files included in the two mods the files that are ready when the mod is loaded? Thus meaning the *.sql files are generated at each mod load at the beginning of each game?

I ask because as I was trying to track down some of the spelling and formatting errors that have crept in to the latest versions I see them in two different locations.

Thus if I correct the *.xls files will the *.sql be updated at game start?

Thanks

I think Thal has a way to convert the excel files for use in then editing the mod files but I don't think its directly effective like that that editing the .xls matters. Pretty sure they are for reference and ease of modding rather than being part of the mod.

That said, there's a good chance that typos will matter across the formats. I find typos are a pretty common source of debugging errors and bugs, either as misspellings or incorrect/incomplete format. If there are some in the excel sheet, they could still be an indirect cause of errors elsewhere.

Ah. Didn't know that.

In that case I'll make my changes in the *.sql files and send a note of my changes to Thal.

Thanks

This is just a small file of errors I have noted.

I'm still not 100% sure if the xls files are just reference or not so I have included locations of the errors in each xls.

Thanks for all the hard work

Thanks! I included those updates in the next version. :goodjob:

I usually see titles capitalized when it precedes a name, becoming part of the name. It might be a regional dialect as you say.

"I am Empress Catherine of Russia."
"I am the Russian empress, Catherine."
"I am Catherine, the empress of Russia."

Firaxis misspelled "Tech_Penicilin" with one L, so we must use the incorrect spelling.

Thanks for pointing out the missing ' apostrophes in some of the language files. They probably got lost when I was converting to a format that works for sql, since that database language uses apostrophes for special purposes.

When do you plan to take a round of fixing bugs from the bugs section?

Sorry for asking but I just want to time starting a new game according to it.

I have a question regarding GEM 1.13.1.

The release notes say "Scaled culture and faith income & costs so 1 point of culture or faith has approximately the same value as 1 point of other yields."

Sorry, but I'm having difficulty with formulating my question correctly but does this mean that all yields are now "equal"? So if I add a wonder that gave +2 culture before it should now only give +1 culture for it to have the same effect on city border growth, social policy earning, etc.?

In earlier versions cuture and science had been scaled by two I think.

Yes, wonders previously gave 2 culture, now give 1, and that has the same effect as before. I did buff a few things in the process, but overall everything scaled by the same amount.
