stSBNES: A Place in the Sun

Do you have my orders? I cant remember if I sent them.

SEND IN ORDERS! FOR THE DUTCH COMMONWEALTH! SEND IN ORDERS (or you might find a dead zebra's head rigged with explosives in your bed one day)!

OOC: See how aggresive the Boers are!? (:p) OOC this is OOC! :)

Hey, look! Russia used OOC three times in a sentance! It is obvious that they are threatening... uh... Luxembourg's sovereignity!

I have enough, update today

1895 - God Save the Tsar!

The British troops seem reluctant to leave South Africa even after the war. UK resupplies the troops and leaves a very large contingent there. Many question why the troops that could be used elsewhere are stationed doing nothing in South Africa?

In Mexico, the government "encourages" the population to be part of the new nation using 100,000 troops. The protests that were allowed to go on before are rooted out, and all opposition members are persecuted. This sparks discontent among the population, and El Salvador and Costa Rica become places of repeating riots led by opposition leaders who demand if not independance, then at least full autonomy for the regions.

Germany's new Nationalistic agenda is very clear, and very much disliked by the rest of the world. All non-german buisness is seized and re-sold to germans, UK loses millions of pounds on this. The population is encouraged to be "free" as long as they live by the government regulations. Free speach, as well as many other rights are stamped out, and the opposition members flee from persecution to England. The Princes, rulers of autonomous regions challanged the new Emperor, but were crushed, and only two escaped, one to France, and the other, Albert of Bovaria - to Austria.

The Automobile is researched in Austria. Within the year, this brilliant invention transforms the nation, stimulates economy and industry, and changes the whole character of the nation. Austria is the first nation to reach Late Industrial Age.

Madagascar is now completley occupied by Belgian forces. The islands is quite, and the locals seem to accept Belgian rule for the most part.

Oman is back in the news. Very well trained and supplied partisans have made a number of deadly attacks on the Germans, costing the Germans much in both manpower and economic stability in the region. North Oman continues to serve as haven for these extremists, and the Russian forces continue to stand by on the border of North Oman.

Throughout Gaerman Poland, well-suplied and organized grounps of nationals are taking up arms, and there are constant clashes with police. In Danzing, a large group has attacked the city and taken control of the administrative buildings. The leader of this movement appears to be a Polish Nationalist Baldethsar Prezstypa, earlier in exile in Russia, but having now returned to Poland. He calls for an independant Poland, and his troops appear to enjoy quite a bit of international support. The nation that would lose the most if the plan is put into action is Russia, since it occupies almost 80% of the would-be Poland. So far the violence has been confined to the German part of Poland, but that could change any minute. There have been no comments from Russia or Austria.

Denmark establishes a Parlamentary Democracy, and with a somewhat quite Germany prepares to rebuild the country. The government wonders when the Russians will return the Danish Islands to the country.

Empress Cixi of China dies, and the issue of who will inherit the Cixi areas is open. The majority seem to want to keep the nation seperate and elect a new leader, however there is a minority that wishes to re-join China, and even a minority that has asked the UK to step in and take control of the areas. The future of the Chinese coast is to be desided soon.

Japan finishes a massive project started under the last Emperor, Amon. The project places Japan among one of the major powers in the Pacific, and with the new strength Japanese armies land in Korea, and begin its occupation.

Invantions

Austria completes the automobile and reaches the Late Industrial Age.

Belgium completes the discovery of Radio, and puts it to brilliant use, being able to comunicate with its troops. Belgian economy is also given a boost by the civilian use of it, and the country reaches the Late Industrial Age, right behind Austria.

Saar Rifles are developed by the Netherlands, and the new technology, combined with the Orel Rifles of Russia and the Lee Ensfield Rifles of UK make the mausens de facto obsolete.

The Federov Avtomat is used for the first time by the Russian troops. It is an attempt to make a portable machine gun, and it is largely succesful. Not nearly as deadly as the infamous Maxim Gun, this gun is carried by a single person and at a close range is incredibly effective.

To Belgium
From Austria
We will trade you automobiles for your new invention of the radio

To the world
Austria presents its brand new invention, the "automobile" for sale to all who wish to purchase it

OOC: in Austria, all companies are state run and only nobles can afford to purchase these vehicles, in no way is it widespread. The radio on the other hand, would bee much more so as even middle class people can purchase it as well as private companies

OOC: the innovation IS widespread among the buisinesses, and the engine used in the car is an innovation in itself. The companies can use this technology to increase commercial and economic efficiency, giving it to the lower classes does not.

question is JS, is it available ONLY to the government institutions or not?

sure, not everything is controlled by the government, Austria afterall is a capitalist nation
