stupid game

I want to play for hours and it won't let me. Why....Why don't you want me to play.
Anyway, here are my "bugs" that have hapened so far.

I am having issues with:
1) the game slowing way down
2) the screen going black and flashing while a nice soothing sound of the ocean comes through the speakers. I have to reboot after this one.
3) the game completely shuts down and returns me to my desktop.

Anyone else having issues with this? It really manifested itself today and I have only been able to play one or two turns before one of these things happen.


My systemm is over the recommended setup and I got a new GE Force card too replace my crappy ATI.

Don't have civ4, but this happens to me a lot in civ3, and the problem I found was my computer. Also, when I got it patched, things ran smoother.

Have the same problems. Plus long chunks of time where only the base tiles show and then stuff comes back slowly. After overclocking my 1.1 AMD it happens less.

same thing with a new game. I hit 1480 and the game closed itself down and I went to the desktop.

Are any of these bugs repeatable? If you reload the autosave, do you crash at the same point? If so, then please post the details and the save file as requested in the top stickied threads.
