I thought it a bit of a shame that subs in civ6 cant go under ice like they can in civ5. That was a nice little cold war addition. Then I though it is pretty lame that subs are so limited considering how cold war is now actually a theme in this game. So here's a proposal o make hem more interesting:
- Allow subs to enter foreign territory without a open borders treaty. If they are spotted then they are expelled and you get a diplomacy hit similar to a spy being caught. surprise attacking from within doubles warmonger penalty.
- Allow nuclear subs to have a 'silent running' mode which means they are not visible to an adjacent unit, but only when a unit actually tries to go over them (and then they are expelled). Activating this silent mode reduces the movement to 1 tile per turn and it cannot attack while in silent mode. Activating/deactivating the silent mode takes all the movement points (essentially takes a turn). (otherwise the sneak attack potential would just be too overpowering).
- and of course go under ice.
what do you think?
