:king: The INFAMOUS POPS will take the turns next :king:

THE INFAMOUS POPS MILITARY CUE IS COMPLETE HE LOOKS OVER HIS NEW LAND WITH DISGUST. WE SHALL CONQUER ALL BEFORE US! NONE SHALL QUESTION THE INFAMOUS POPS! *Insane laughter*:o

1- : Hoplite built, dispatched to Knossos for garrison. Order the training of Archers in Thermopylae.

2- 775 BC: Boring road work/troop movement... Growing restless. Me thinks a good war is what we need!

3- 750 BC: Hoplite arrives in Knossos, welcoming toga party held. Barbarians met in frontier exploration, battle eminent.

4- 730 BC: First of many victories under my rule. Foolish barbarians planned an ambush on our wandering warriors, but we ambushed their ambush and we got cross ambushilation until the enemy was confused and easily subdued. In other news, new incense acquired and other boring worker movements...

5- 710 BC: Archers complete, being sent to Indian border for impending invasion. Meanwhile, dispatch fruit basket and nice card to Mahatma. Library being built in Thermopylae.

6- 690 BC: Sparta completes temple, order priests to pick up bows and march toward the Indian border, will be ready in 4 turns. Elite Warriors destroy a barbarian tribe. Approached us with threatening baskets of food and other small gifts so were killed and their village burned. Oracle build in distant city of Paris, added to "Sack" list.

7- 670 BC: Blah blah, workers worked, archers arched, warriors warred. Nothing worth mentioning.

8- 650 BC: Road connected to Pharsalos, workers celebrate with toga party.

9- 630 BC: Boring turn so I'll make up with a bad joke. 5 incense tiles right near each other, thats incensitive! :slay:

10- 610 BC: Sparta finishes archers. Culture expands around Sparta after many statues erected of me, THE INFAMOUS POPS. Small army gathering to take Madras. If they only knew MUH HAHAHA...

11- 590 BC: Corinth being a nuisance, consider destroying city and crucifying citizens as warning to other rioting cities, but cannot spare the troops needed. Those peaceful Indians must be stopped!

12- 570 BC: Road to Delphi completed. Toga party held [party] , invite Indians to give false sense of friendship. If they only knew, Muh HAHAHAHA...

13- 550 BC: Army prepared, will enter Indian territory next turn. 2 archers and 1 warrior, a little risky considering I know not of the enemy's strength but it can wait no longer!

14- 530 BC: Army marches into Indian territory, posing as 300 traveling circus performers. Cover blown, Indians made... Tried to tell them it was just our track/archery team looking to hold the Olympic games in Madras but they didn't buy it. War was declared.

15- 510 BC: THE BATTLE OF MADRAS! Our forces have reached the outskirts of the town. There has been no resistance, scouts report the enemy has spearmen fortified throughout the town. Send warriors to flush out the enemy and expose them to archery fire. Warriors meet the enemy and inflict heavy casualties before being overwhelmed and broken by enemy. First archer company ordered to attack. Two enemy spearmen have been identified. One badly damaged, the other fresh but unfortified. First archer attack succeeded in routing a company of enemy spearmen, leaving one badly shaken company to be dealt with. Ordering 2nd archer company to attack. The attack is successful and the battle is won. Our victorious troops raped their horses and rode off on their women. Forces suffered heavy loses from fight. They are now encamped on the ruins of Madras.

16- 490 BC: Map making discovered, iron working now under research. Company of warriors deep in Indian territory encounter unit of enemy archers, withdraw to mountains in attempt to draw the archers into the open.

17- 470 BC: Our first galley is being built in Thermopylae. Main army still regrouping. Decisive victory in the grasslands near Delhi. Our warriors destroyed a unit of archers with nearly no losses.

18- 450 BC: The Great Library is completed in Athens! This will show those Indian pigs we are superior in all ways! Now building the Colossus. A lone warrior company is fortified outside Indian capital. Holds toga parties to try to convert the populus... No luck...

19- 430 BC: 4 new technologies received from Great Library. Included Iron working, switched to Philosophy to ponder all of life's questions. Warriors outside Delhi defeated, caught while recovering from last night's toga party. Very sad. Beer cans, puke and blood everywhere... Army finally ready to march on India again, 3 archers are now marching towards Bangalore. Hah! Get this the Indians started to beg for peace. I took pity on them and decided to sign as long as they agree to hand over the city of Bangalore. The fools rejected! All they want is war! Can't they just give up now?! Warmongers, pfft...

20- 410 BC: Nothing interesting... Wait a horrible way to end my reign. I know! I'll have a massive toga party! Luxuries for everyone!

Notes: Those two units near Athens are for colonization to the north, the ship will be ready soon. THE INDIAN MENACE MUST BE DESTROYED! SO SAYS THE INFAMOUS POPS!:king:

410BC (IT): a TSL of 0.1.9 is heavy switched 6.4.0 so we get some money :) and philoophy in a few turns. All Entertainers get kicked out (no need for them since we are stuck at Size 6 with 2 Lux). Athen switche to Lighthouse Korrinth to Settler Sparta rearranged to increase Production . Only Iron sources are in the big landmass east of India there are some Lux and Rivers too so perhaps perfect Side for FP.

390BC (1): Galley finished in Therm starts Archer ; Lizzy wants Literature since we have GL allready i give in; Horsebackriding pops out of GL.

370BC (2): Sparta finishes Archer starts Settler.

350BC (3): England starts Collossus. A settler and a Hoplite board the Galley for the northern Island. Sad enough it turns out to be small Island with just one gold.

290BC (6): Philosophy researched starts Republic

270BC (7): Sparta fin Settler starts Hoplit; Therm fin Archer starts Settler; Argos founded north of Athen starts Temple

210BC (10): Sparts fin Hoplite starts new, Therm fin Settler starts Hopl. Knossos fin Temple and starts Harbor(do get some food)

190BC (11): Pharsalos fin Temple starts Harbor;

150BC (13): Some Indian Archers get cought in the Jungle near Bagalore.

130BC (14): sparta fin Hoplite starts Barracks, Therm fin Hoplite starts Archer; Corrinth fin Settler starts Hoplite

110BC (15): Our Galley with a Settler and Hoplite onboard aiming for the Iron gets ambushed by two barb-Galleys  luckily we survive with 1 hp left [dance]

50BC (18): Mycenae founded near Iron starts Temple; Since england has setled the other Iron -> no Iron for India :D
Herakleia founded near Horses; Temple started;

30BC (19): England starts Lighthouse a bit late :)

10BC (20): Signed peacetreaty with India couse its useless to go with Archers against Spearman and i wanted to avoid a golden Age;

Galley east of Pharsalos has a Settler and Hoplite onboard to claim a bit more of the nice land . As soon Lighthouse is finished (in 3 turns) the transportation from our main land will be much faster then the English Settlers. We need to go scouting for other Civs else our GL is useless. We have more culture than England and India together so some culture-bombing could be successfull:)

Preturn: India is weak, 4 cities, weak military but we just entered a peace agreement. England is stong, 13 cities to our 10, with a strong military. They are also slightly ahead in tech as they have Polytheism. We don't have any great areas for expansion. The island to our northeast could take one more city that will be somewhat productive and then there is room on the peninsula to our south but those cities will not be productive due to distance and there is alot of jungle down there. I am going to send our settler in the galley to the eastern end of the peninsula south of us to grab the couple incense there. The city will not be productive but I would like to get a monopoly on incense.
A worker between Sparta and Athens is building a road in forest on a square that is not within either cities production area, so I stop his work. A couple cities are producing military without barracks so I change Corinth to galley and Delphi to worker. Change Argos from Temple to Harbor as this will give 2 happiness due to luxuries compared to one for a temple. Thermopylae also changed to galley, we need to get out and meet more civs to get GL benefits. Great Lighthouse is done in 3 turns. We are researching Republic which is done in 27 turns, can't turn up science rate enough to shorten this without losing money.
(1) 10AD-movement of troops and workers.
(2) 30AD-Thermopylae completes galley starts settler. Galley sent north to explore.
(3) 50AD-Great Lighthouse completed in Athens, we enter our Golden Age. Athens starts on Colossus. We have a strong culture city here, gonna try to build on that. I bump up the science rate so we will have Republic in 13 turns, still making 11 gpt. A barb galley attacks our galley with settler, we survive. Establish embassy in London. The English have 2 horses and 5 dyes, 400 gold in treasury. Establish emassy in Delhi. Indians have no strategic resources and 2 silks, no treasury. India is small and should be a target for elimination once our peace treaty runs out.
(4) 70AD-Galley with settler sees another barb galley, pull back and wait for the other galley to gaurd.
(5) 90AD-Thermopylae completes settler, starts hoplite. The Americans have completed the Colosus in Chicago. Athens switched to library without any sheild lose.
(6) 110AD-Barb galley sinks our guarding galley. Settler and hoplite unloaded safely from other galley. Sparta completes hoplite, starts worker. Corinth completes galley starts courthouse. Delphi completes worker, starts barracks. Our galley sinks barb galley but is now down to one hp. Munith founded on incense site, starts temple. Settler and hoplite unloaded from other galley onto northwest corner of southern peninsula right next to a barb camp that was in the dark.
(7) 130AD-Hoplite guarding settler defends against barb warrior, becomes elite. Athens completes library, starts galley to replace the one destroyed. Russia completes Great Wall in Kiev. Good to know that the other civs may have techs to teach us. Ephusus founded which disperses barb camp, temple construction started. We meet the French off the northeast of the southern peninsula. They know Math and Polytheism. They have communication with Americans, Aztecs, Russians and Romans. I don't want to trade communication with our neighbors (I want to broker some techs to England) and Joanie wants too much for communications with our unknowns. Decide to explore a little before giving in to her prices.
(8) 150AD-We get Polytheism and Math from the GL. Sparta completes worker, starts Hoplite. Thermopylae completes hoplite, starts harbor. Our palace gets two expansions. French know Currency and Construction, England doesn't.
(9) 170AD-We meet the Russians southeast of French, they know Currency and Construction and all of our unknown civs but not Polytheism. They must be close to discovering Polytheism, they won't trade it for comm with just one other civ.
(10) 190AD-We get Currency and Construction from the GL and enter the middle ages and get Monotheism free due to being a scientific civ. Athens completes galley and starts aqueduct. Size 6 cities of Corinth, Delphi and Sparta have production changed to aqueduct to allow growth. Research of Republic will be completed next turn so I drop science rate to maximize income on this last turn.
(11) 210AD-The Republic is discovered, start research of Theology, science rate bumped up to 70%, 17 turns. I put off revolution to go to Republic as we are still in our golden age. We meet the Romans southwest of the Russians. We are even with them in techs. I trade currency to England for wm and 110 gold. India still has no money so they don't get any tech. We are even in techs with the French, Romans and Russians. On the histograph we slightly trail France and England, India by far is the weakest. The England wm shows us that they have completely settled the southern part of the island that we share with them and the Indians.
(12) 230AD-Knossos completes harbor, starts aqueduct.
(13) 250AD-galleys continue exploring, workers working.
(14) 260AD-boring. Our tech equals still don't know anything new.
(15) 270AD-We can finally trade with the English. Trade Liz some of our excess incense for some dyes.
(16) 280AD-Trade our excess silks to Liz for wm and 130 gold. Use some of our treasury to establish embassies: Russia, their capital has no improvements, they have no strategic resources, 2 gems. 6 gold in treasury. Romans have iron, horses, furs and spices, one of each. Their capital has no improvements. 5 gold in treasury. Joanie has iron, horses and three spices. Her capital has the Oracle, a colusseum and a courthouse? She has 79 gold. She is a republic.
(17) 290AD-Thermopylae completes harbor, starts aqueduct.
(18) 300AD-Athens completes aqueduct, starts cathedral, this will boost our culture even more in this city.
(19) 310AD-Sparta completes aqueduct, starts marketplace. Worker and hoplite put on galley and heads toward Mycenae. We need to get the iron hooked up and online. Extra hoplite is to garrison the city. We meet the Aztecs, they don't know Monotheism. They give us tm and comm with Americans for Monotheism. Abe doesn't know Monotheism either. We trade him Mono for his tm.
(20) 320AD-Nothing exciting.

We are 6 turns from Theology and being able to build Sistine's Chapel. Athens could be switched over to Sistine's. I think we have a decent chance of winning with a 20,000 culture city with Athens if we continue to build culture there.
We have a few more turns left on our golden age. We should probably switch to Republic when this ends. The worker and hoplite in the galley are intended for Mycenae, we need to get a road to the iron and the city should be better defended. I would suggest rushing the temple and a harbor in Mycenae as soon as possible under Republic. Then we will have iron and be able to build a military to take out the Indians. This could give us four more silks. Hopefully we would get a great leader in the fighting and be able to rush the forbidden palace.
Remember we have the Great Library and therefore don't want to research Education or it becomes obsolete. I still haven't traded communication between the English or Indians and the civs on the other continent. England has enough cash that we can still make some money trading techs to Liz.
Best of luck to the next leader.

India thinks I'm massing troops near Bangalore!? I move the hoplite back one.

I'm done for now..

I tried expanding a bit.. watch Eritrea.. Not too sure how close to the French/Aztecs it will be.

We could probably increase the science rate a bit now.. I didn't want riots in Athen while Sistine was being built..

Good luck Steve!

I'll play after Steve.
Just wondering why automate workers not allowed. Do they give an advantage or do they screw things up for the next person?

------------------
Well among the stupid things automated workers will do -
Mine every mountain by a city stuck at size 2.
Irragate grasslands during depostism.
Irragate cities to 12 extra food with 3 shields.
Chop down forest in game (2 food, 2 shields) to find grassland without a shield (2 food, 0 shields).
You don't even want to know how stupid there are with railbuilding...
etc, etc, etc.

>>>>> This has a good possiblity of a 20000 point culture city, build a cathedral in Athens next.
