ANYTHING but "It", that film had me scared of the bathroom for years.
I've heard of this film that's really scary, it's called "The Grifter" or something like that. I haven't been able to track down a copy, though.
Dude! Tim Curry was hilarious in that movie! The degree of ham in that movie was the reason to watch it!
The most recent scary movie that was any good in my professional opinion was Paranormal Activity.
Watched this over the weekend. Was great Sam Raimi fare, very over the top and quite funny with some good horror elements thrown in as well.
Monster House. It may be a kid's movie, but some scenes actually did scare the out of me.
It really scared me as a child but I watched it again recently and didn't like it. Tim Curry was pretty good and scary as It and the kid actors were good but other than that, it had too much of a made-for-TV movie quality to me. The book is really scary but it could have been edited to a much smaller length. Lots of unnecessary chapters.
I thought Session 9 was pretty scary.
If TV shows are acceptable, you may want to look into Jeckyll.
Season 1, Ep 2 of masters of Horror, called "Dreams in Witch House" is based on a short story of the same name by HP Lovecraft. It is easily the scariest thing I ever read. Stunning psychological thriller using the "keyhole" technique which Poe started, Lovecraft perfected and King copped.
Season 1, Ep 10, "Sick Girl" is pretty creepy, especially if you dislike bugs. Be warned though, most of the episodes are crap.
It was good for what it was. Have 2 in my hands at the moment to watch over the next couple of days.
I never saw the second. Tell me how it is.
I can't believe you would even bring that up. No one should ever see that movie.
The only movie I could find with that name on IMDB.com was the Grifters (1990) and it didn't sound like a horror movie.
