Suggest to the Civ2 MP players, make a FAQ.

I am confused that there is not a FAQ with all the time spent playing this game. What I would suggest:

• Ports needed to be open to serve a game on the different versions of Civ2, I know that 4993 is for Civ2 MGE.
• Links to all the instant messanger services including Trillian.
• What version of Civ games is most likely played and a link to the file on CFC so the new players can download it and play easily.
• Info on how to play simu game or a link to the thread that explains this.
• I am sure there is something else someone can cram into the FAQ.

Why don't I do it? I am not a big Civ2 player, especially with Neverwinter Nights being out....but I can see the need for it because we get a question about Civ2 stuff every few days in computer talk.

There's the sticky thread "Multiplayer Useful Info", but it's not thorough enough to constitute a FAQ. Maybe the top post could be revised and expanded, with a table of contents.

Now we just need someone who lives by getting this smiley:

I read the first post in that thread and it seeme more an advert for ICQ than helpful Civ2 info....but I didn't read through the whole thing. I helped maintain the Civ3 FAQ, check that out for an example of info.

Nice work. Chapters as posts is a great idea. I really like the formatting. This FAQ would be a fine model.

I'm new to multiplayer, and learning, so I possess an interest to write a FAQ, but, alas, little knowledge.

Volunteers? Please?

The formatting is Lt. Killer's work. I just helped edit some of it and a lot of the information is grabbed from the old FAQ that wasn't being maintained....hopefull some civ2 player will get interested in making a FAQ....starlifter is good with them.
