Suggestions and requests

A doubly good idea then.

But being able to abuse and exploit every possible mechanic and wonder is what makes this mod so much fun for me!

Does the AI really persecute often? I've gotten the impression that it stopped persecuting with some update.

Indeed. The only civs I don't see persecuting that often is everything east of Persia.
You may want to double-check and get a second opinion or two from the others on this matter though.

I've thought about the best way to do this and all I really need are the UHV end years for all civs in the right order, preferably already in Python format, so like this:
Code:
((-1200, -500, -200), # Egypt
(-1, 1000, 1800), # China
# ...
)
And so on, with the civs in their order of spawn. The years in my example aren't accurate, use -1 for goals without a specific end turn.

Well in that case, here you go:

Code:
(-850, -100, 170), # Egypt
(-1, 1000, 1800), # China
(-1, -850, -700), # Babylonia
(-1, -250, -330), # Greece
(-1, 700, 1200), # India
(-300, -100, 200), # Carthage
(140, 350, 350), # Persia
(100, 320, -1), # Rome
(800, 1000, 1200), # Tamils
(-1, 600, 1500, 1910), # Ethiopia
(1200, -1, -1), # Korea
(600, 900, 1600), # Maya
(1000, 1200, 1450), # Byzantium
(1600, 1940, -1), # Japan
(1050, 1100, 1500), # Vikings
(1300, 1300, -1), # Arabia
(1000, 1400, 1700), # Tibet
(1200, 1450, 1450), # Khmer
(1300, 1500, 1940), # Indonesia
(1000, 1200, 1300), # Moors
(-1, 1650, 1700), # Spain
(1700, 1800, 1900), # France
(1730, 1800, -1), # England
(1200, -1, 1700), # HolyRome
(1700, 1920, 1950), # Russia
(1350, 1500, 1700), # Mali
(1400, -1, 1600), # Poland
(1550, 1650, 1700), # Portugal
(1500, 1550, 1700), # Inca
(1500, 1600, 1930), # Italy
(1300, -1, 1500), # Mongolia
(1520, 1650, -1), # Aztecs
(1500, 1660, 1750), # Mughals
(1500, 1700, 1800), # Turkey
(1650, 1700, 1900), # Thailand
(1650, 1800, -1), # Congo
(1650, 1750, 1800), # Iran
(1745, 1745, 1775), # Holland
(1900, 1940, -1), # Germany
(1930, 2000, 2000), # America
(1880, 1940, 1960), # Mexico
(1900, 1930, 1960), # Argentina
(1870, 1920, 1950), # Colombia
(1880, -1, 1950), # Brazil

This is the first time I've ever written anything in Python too. The only thing I'm not sure on is how to express Ethiopia's third UHV goal because it has 2 end dates. I hope this helps!

Thanks! You have just turned a tedious exercise into something that might be fun for me. I'll get to it tomorrow.

(About Ethiopia's goal, what would you like to see displayed? Both turns? If so this kind of goal might need a special treatment.)

It doesn't really matter all that much for Ethiopia because the goal is just to keep the Europeans out of a certain area. Just do whatever you think is easiest.

Knowing the turn number of a UHV check really helps for the goals where you have to build something up over time like gold, culture, buildings/wonders, improvements, and research. That's something that doesn't really apply to Ethiopia's third UHV goal.

I think there should be a change to independent cities mechanism. It's more than strange when I declare war against an independent kingdom far away from other independents, and end up fighting independents all over the planet ! Just for example in my Tibet game, I had to declare war against Mekka to get my galley back to India, and found myself fighting the independent Vijayanagara empire in southern India ?? This is weird. I feel it should be changed. One independent kingdom shouldn't care for the other. At the least there should be more than 2 "independent kings" .

As a corollary, why shouldn't the unplayable Seljuks be open to diplomacy ? they're too powerful when they control Persia and the mid east and they hold a very significant part of the world for the time they do. It doesn't feel right in the game to treat them like barbarians.. I don't know if there have been any changes recently to this, I'm still playing v 1.11 without revisions.

When a city declares independence from a civ, it should kick out the civ's units and create a small army of his own, just like cities who culture flip and who declare independence to form a respawning nation do.

Don't they? I think they use the same mechanism.

As far as I know the AI does not persecute anymore since 1.10.

It was too exploitable anyway as you could so easily destabilize them by spreading religions that they would persecute.

No, unless you changed anything recently (I'm still at the version before Latin American Civs), they flip your units inside and one tile nearby (unsure about the latter). That's why you must rush almost all your units to the capital if you're Unstable.

Oh, yeah, that was before the new stability mechanism then. Since Rhye apparently didn't know the concept of encapsulating repeatedly used mechanisms in independent methods and instead implemented everything over and over again when needed the old city secession apparently worked differently, but now it should be the same.

Foregin troops should also be kicked out on spawn, this doesn't happen at least on human spawn, which can result to losing one your flipped cities immeatidely. This is especially annoying the the city has a naval transport and the flipped garrison goes inside it and the city is defenceless, but that's another bug entirely.

On the indepentdent thing, is it possible to make it so that the Independents won't attack you. I think this is done in BrokenStar. If not in python/sdk, it would be possible to make a UU for everything for the Independents that can only defend and are hidden in the civilopedia.

 Mighty Leostinian, where are our Theodosian walls? They are pillaging the Hagia Irene and are on their way to the mighty Hagia Sophia! Even as we speak they are bombarding the Imperial palace!
. . . if our pleas don't work, then look!

We made you a sweater from our tears!

I don't think I can resist a Spongebob reference ...

Praise Leostinian the Great, Augustus, Roman Emperor! We shall build statues of you in all cities and let your great deeds be proclaimed throughout the land!

I have an idea that would require no programming but is something I, and i'm sure other people, would like. More scenarios. I know theres a 1700 one but could we also have a 1930 and 2000 scenario? I never really get to 2000 before I lose or get bored.
