    Thanks a Zillion for this!
Up until Firaxis releases an official method to access their compressed BLP files -- we're now getting some form of indirect control over assets analysis & extraction steps.

Could someone explain the PhotoShop steps a little further? Its a little confusing for noob users of layers and alphas like me.

    Thanks in advance.

alpha Mean (it must be PNG Type like image, that the artwork has a transparency background layer) like this
    220px-Sophitia.png
the above image is transparent that u can see the background of it!
    and, this one
(below) is JPG Type (without Transparent Background Layer)(that doesnt shows the background! (it has a white or black or any color background!
    220px-Sophitia.jpg
    i hope u get it (^_^)
(and dont forget that, u can ask me for more, or just search it(google it) how to make a transparent image in ps(photoshop or gimp or other cool apps)

This doesn't seem to work as it doesn't have the <CompatibleVersions> tag.
I tried adding that myself, and it still didn't work. (May 2020 update)
Starting a game doesn't take me to the texture screen as the description says it should.

Has anyone got a working version, or pointer to a similar tool?

Doesn't work for me either. Anybody has a fix or anything like that?

I'm also trying to RE-use such a customizing tool and it isn't compatible with newest updates (GS+NFP?)... either someone could work on a probable fix or i'll just have to try contacting Sukritact directly for quick repairs to the mod.

It still works, ignore the version warning and unhide the context via firetuner

    uh?
Unhide the context via FireTuner... ??

Sorry, but i've got no idea how to do this! Care to explain please. ;)

    Update
Might have been confusing a little.
I know what Firetuner is, but i'm normally using a few Console commands only for specific purposes.
I'll check out any Firetuner guides/threads here on CFC & try finding how to input the instruction(s) similar to "Unhide Context".

    Stay tuned.. be back. Thanks.

    Okay...
No luck so far, at executing any optional LUA instructions related to Texture-Extractor (listed as a valid component into FT assets, btw!) context or even unhide it straight onto its own UI/HUD layer as it would automatically before.
I've checked out a number of FireTuner default panels to examine if anything could help out -- no luck there either.

Sooooo -- i'm gonna have to wait for your suggestions or direct hints to activate that important Texture/Extractor tool properly.
    Please again!

@sukritact ... anything new to share with me?

    SUK-TextureExtractor_Firetuner-Console_TEST.png

This is as far as i could get Tuner-wise... maybe inGame would allow the proper context to trigger??

Gosh... i was soooooo close! Thanks. :scan:

UPDATE ---- It works perfectly fine.
I've still got to remember (precisely) how to handle your Photoshop instructions for post-processing & conversion to proper DDS/Textures from each sources.
    The trick is somewhat hidden in this small set of two tricky tasks;
    -----
Subtract the black BG from the white BG. What remains in an inverted alpha.
Uninvert the inverted alpha then apply to the conteract tranparency image

    -----

I don't have Photoshop, only Corel/PSProX21 (both systems match with the essentials, AFAIC).

One more quest for indirect help i guess.. unless you'd bother explaining ** it** further to me. Although a post above might be enough! ;)

    Strange request, please anyone.

When trying to detect the formal file names that declare the encoded source of such DDS textures.. we still need to find the proper data/details.

Is there a comprehensive generic component (XML??) that gives us a list of anything related? Aside from tool-set gimmicks such as pre-determined (but compiled) ArtDefs archive(s), via AssetEditor exploration steps & other stuff like sweeping through SDK+Pantry.. where can we get some facts and direct references about any ingame GFX data, specially for the latest NFP content.
I've been trying to uncover various graphic elements for Heroes (Portraits, Icons, Etc) & many more resources yet to be released by Firaxis as supplemental Pantry. Until we do get those files, extracting is the only rational solution.

Sukritact why are you using 40 image duplicates for "Counteract image transparency"? Is 40 always enough? What if an image has 1/256 alpha?

2nd question: Do you know any trick to be able to display a texture from a scenario/game mode while being in a standard game?
