Suleiman, leader of the Ottomans, Philosophical/Imperialistic.

Able to pump out great scientists in a heartbeat.

Able to pump out settlers in a heartbeat. (Great Generals are merely a sweet bonus.)

Janissaries that, when given the promotion "cover", can, along with some trebs, cut through Longbowmen, Macemen and Knights like butter.

He's dethroned ol' Victoria.

I like him.

It depends on the situation but with imperialistic you want to expand early and quickly. Financial means you can keep up financially with that rapid expansion. Then you can get courthouses and stock exchanges to keep up.

There is no trait like Organised...nothing beats -50% upkeep in addition to faster factory building.

I havent win any games yet,as i play Suleiman.Maybe i am wrong,maybe Suleiman.:)

Depends if you want a more successful SE or CE. Or just play Elizabeth and do well at both! The ultimate "Builder" leader.

how do you set up an SE before all the land is settled? the problem with imperialistic is that its difficult to fund your own expansion. its almost not worth building settlers faster because you cant afford to expand at that rate anyhow.

With financial you can. Which is what I'm saying about Victoria. Actually, the only imperialistic leaders that are really worth it are Victoria and the Romans. With the Romans, set up a small empire quickly and then go to war with Praetorians.

I think imperialistic is fine as it is (but then I only play as Victoria and Augustus) but I would like for it to get a boost. :mischief:

Thats my point exactly... Imperialistic isn't any good on it's own.

Whats the deal with his eyes- they really creep me out.

Those eyes, those EYES! OMGWTF!

I'm was a huge fan of the Ottomans in Warlords but Suleiman's traits don't really appeal to me. Mehmed's Exp/Org works better with the UB as it encourages a large empire with high population cities.

I've said this before but I wished Suleiman got the unused Org/Pro combo. Org fits with Suleiman's reputation as a great lawgiver and Pro fits in well with the UU.
