Sullla has posted the latest set of alternate histories for the ongoing season, this time completed by yours truly for Game 8! The real game saw Cyrus quickly take things far from the expected course with an early attack on Julius Caesar, weakening both of them and paving the way for Lincoln and Augustus to take out Louis, jump ahead in tech, and move on to the playoffs together. But was this "supposed" to happen?

Short version: Augustus and Lincoln were not the most likely leaders to advance! Shocking, I know. While they were in the mix, it was Cyrus who dominated the game over and over again and was far more successful than anybody else, snowballing off of his great position. The surprising Suleiman was the next-best leader thanks to staying out of trouble and simply developing his cities well, but this was a bit of an "anything goes" map where almost any leader could come out on top in the right circumstances, and a lot of what happened was a bit of a crapshoot. The exception is De Gaulle, who never got anything done whatsoever.
