Sea food, FPs, and Forests provide pillage-proof decent to semi-decent yields. Sure helps in a Raging Barbs context.I guess the seafood + floodplains were just good for that even with barb activity?
I found that Brennus' start in this game had strong vibes of Mao's in Season 5 Wildcard. And while unassuming at first glance, it's proven to be the strongest start on that map.
Willem ruined De Gaulle's game completely.
I believe so too: furthest away from Brennus, can join attacks on Willem and Washington for easy spoils. If Washington had a best scenario game, I think De Gaulle had a worst-scenario game.I think he'll do significantly better in AHs
Yes, that's something I notice a lot too. Leaders like Willem, Pacal, HC, Elisabeth, Gandhi etc. tend to have a two-phased expansion. Which works great (they get Wonders and don't crash their economy)... if they have a backline to expand into. If they don't have a backline, they tend to get boxed-in and need to be on the right side of a dogpile to expand (easier for HC than Lizzy for example).(Is that something in the AI coding? Because it seems to happen pretty frequently with the Financial leaders in particular.)
