Indeed! I just wished there were some way to tell the idiots that it's a championship game so they take it seriously and don't throw it on purpose.

The scary part is when you realize they're always trying their best. My favorite moments are when AIs have panic attacks and never research roads.

If someone painstakingly recreated Sullla's random maps and won the overall picking contest through their consistency, then I'd at least argue they had (more than) earned it.

imagine doing that only to watch Montezuma win that game even I have life...

so much emphasis on picking contest but I care more about ranking them, I suppose I would be totally okay for ranking them based on starting position shuffling(swapping) alternative replays on random maps instead of using same fair copy paste maps. Which I believe Thrasybulos was doing that. But that's not possible for live streaming. Only for us to rank fairly after.

Anyway, my so called map reading skills said Saladin or Ramesses, and my tests said Darius or Ramesses to win this game
So intersection of both sets is my pick for the game. With so many options it is still hard to predict right one.

Imagine picking Darius 1st Churchill 2nd only to watch Ramesses 1st Saladin 2nd, you never know still.

I'm doing a few late adjustments to the ranking formula (which, in view of the overall results, was yielding some "wrong" results like an AI making it to the playoffs being ranked lower than AIs it trounced in the Opening Round owing to a very poor Playoffs performance), and preparing the files for publishing.
Considering it's Championship Day, I figured I'd let the week-end pass (also convenient since I'm out of town this week-end ). I should start publishing the results next week.
