Go Hammy! Got 8 points from that so quite pleased with that outcome.

As to why Gandhi didn't turn on the slider, I believe there is a point in the game where something triggers the AI to decide on the victory condition to pursue. I guess at that point Gandhi must not have taken his 3rd culture city back so assumed that culture was not possible and decided to go for space instead.
