This is intriguing. A casting agency is looking for a deaf or hearing-impaired, athletic, Native American or Latina actress, fluent in ASL, to play to play a character in her 20s for an upcoming Disney+ television series. The nerdosphere is buzzing that it could be Echo, for an as-yet-unannounced 4th season of Daredevil.

Season 3 is when I finally decided that I think Deborah Ann Woll is a good actor. Mild spoiler for season 3 below, if you want a little tease...

I noticed that Stargirl was renewed for a 2nd season but will no longer be streaming on the DC Universe service. This after Doom Patrol was moved to HBO Max. (Swamp Thing was also picked up by The CW, but that was after it was canceled by DC Universe. The CW is probably just looking for existing content it can air in the Fall, with production slowed or halted due to the coronavirus, and Swamp Thing got okay reviews. iirc, the plug was pulled because of some bureaucratic mismanagement.) One wonders if DC Universe will fall victim to the oversaturation of streaming services and its content folded into other things, such as The CW and HBO Max.

Elsewhere, Cate Shortland, the director of Black Widow, confirmed what everyone already assumed, that Scarlett Johansson will "hand the baton" to Florence Pugh and Yelena Belova will be an ongoing character in the MCU. Purely in terms of the character's skillset, it's easy to imagine her appearing in Falcon & The Winter Soldier or Shang-Chi. The MCU never worries about a character's "power level", though, and is more concerned with the characters and their stories. Without having seen Black Widow yet, I don't know what connection Belova has to any of the existing characters besides Romanova, so atm, I don't see her slotting neatly into any of the other announced "Phase 4" stories. It could be as simple as another post-credits sequence, I suppose, but my guess is we won't see Pugh in the MCU again for a while.

‘Batwoman’: Javicia Leslie Cast As the New Lead Of the CW Superhero Series

So looks like they went outside the series to just replace Kate Kane.

I just looked her up in IMDb, and it doesn't look like I've ever seen her in anything. Google says she's 33 yrs old and 5' 4", which is around Scarlett Johansson's size (5' 3"), smaller than Caity Lotz (5' 6") and Melissa Benoist (5' 8"). Fingers crossed, but I haven't kept up with Batwoman anyway. I'm sure I'll give the first 2-3 episodes a try.

I might watch it just to see if it's any better than the disaster that was S1. But I have been enjoying my CW-less media existence lately...

I forget where I saw it, but a review said The Old Guard was the best X-Men movie in years. I never saw Age of Apocalypse, The Wolverine or Dark Phoenix, but I've heard nothing good about any of them. I'd rate The Old Guard ahead of The Last Stand, but behind Logan. I noticed that Disney+ has Days of Future Past, which I know I watched but have no memory of, so I might rewatch that. X-Men and First Class are on HBO Max, so I probably won't be rewatching those any time soon.

It's not literally an X-Men movie. It's the new Netflix actioner with Charlize Theron & Chiwetel Ejiofor. It's pretty good.

I saw that pop up this weekend and was curious as I hadn't read much about it. Still waiting for Theron to do the Atomic Blonde sequel though - at least it's possibly in the works at Netflix.
    I take it that's a positive recommendation?
