Superman vs. Spearman

Someone posted a poll on the Hulk vs. Superman.

Now, here is the Civ related question.... Superman vs. the Killer Spearman.

Superman: Can move faster than lightning, see though solid objects, super strong, and has laser-like abilities with eyes. Weakness: Kryptonite

Spearman: Can eliminate entire armored divisions in combat. Gains power from mountains and large cities. Abilities include being able to thrust a wooden stick though the front armor of a M1A1. Weakness: Bombers

Have at it! Who and Why?

I have to say that the spearman has NO weaknesses...
None at all.

Bombers (Especially the low level ones!) are no match for spearman's deadly accuracy.

(A note: I saw the tank vs. spearman thread awhile back, and I counted the spearman winning three or four times out of 100. On normal terrain...)

I would invite all of the civfanatics here to gather up their spears and go against me in one M1A1 tank.

Just one.


We need to research that spearman technology here in the U.S.

Superman may be able to move the planet, but he can't stop our pointy sticks.

What about those conscript barbarian warriors? They're pretty tough too. I once lost a modern armor with two hitpoints left to a barbarian warrior moving across some open tundra... but then I did something that not even superman can do, and reloaded the turn

but can they beat a real killer spearman?? no, nothing can, end of story. Killer spearman will always be the strongest thing ever made, you just can't change some things

What was the point of this thread again? Oh yeah. Spearmen vs. Superman = easy spearmen victory. Spearmen vs. Immortals = No more Spearmen.

Superman beats Killer Spearman!

How?

Turn:
1-7. Superman climbs in a bomber and reduces the Spearman's city to waste

8-15. Superman pillages all the tiles surrounding Spearman's city.

16-25. Superman destroys all the other cities that Spearman is allied with

26-50. Superman sits outside of Spearman's door mocking him.

51. Spearman's contract runs out and he is fired. His shield is ground into raw material for an rifleman.

52. Superman crushes the Rifleman.

No, this only happens if the owner of the spearman is "smart", which basically narrows it down to the human player. The AI knows not to upgrade those invincible spearmen.

Yes, bullets are MUCH less effective then sharp pointy sticks...

But superman COULD flood all of the terrain around spearman's home city, which would give that city no SHEILDS, which would therefore disband the spearman.

Oops, Sheilds were used in the REAL CIV... Sorry 'bout that.

Well this would be a close one.
Superman come flying in for the strike. The spearman has luck on his side, and even though he had about .0124% chance of victory he manages to stick the spear in superman.
But suddenly the spearman takes of his helmet, and its,............SUPERMAN!!!.
But then who's in the superman costume. We take it off and we find ..........an army of Modern Armor!!!
