Suppose you are president,what would you do under such condition?

A war has lasted for a while,and you are the stronger side,but your enemy has started to destroy the earth as they feared that they might be conquered and lose everything.So they used nukes,even genetic weapons without any limitation.After several rounds,it's clear that the earth is already at the limit,but they are still nuking.
Although you have tried hard to fight back with nukes,your opponents insist that they only accept a peace treaty which is good for them(such as changing some original world rules which are good for you,and of course,punishment such as embargo are not possible as they may launched the war to break the embargo,and they have determined to end the war as winners at any cost),but they also promise that they understand the importance of independence,so they will not become invaders and the independence of your country will be respected.
Prevent them from ruining the world is impossible,as they have declared that such action will directly lead to total destruction of human being,and they can really achieve that goal even when they are being prevented.

In fact,you have only two choices.
1 fight to the end with everything you have,even you know that you may end the human civilization as both side choose destruction as the end of human being.
2 although you may suffer from the treaty,it's better than destruction,survive is victory,and history or god will finally punish your opponents.

Scorched earth is fine for a regional tactic, but planet-wide? No. Obviously option 2.

In the game(not in some mods),I believe that everyone would try to fight to the end,even most of your land has become desert because of global warming,as global warming will not end your game directly,and you can still achieve victory after a cruel atomic war.
But in the real world,when both sides can end the human civilization,they turned to the space race(although without much success) at once.

But the option 2 is also interesting,as all the other countries with nukes can ask you for same term.That means the leader of the world may suddenly lose all the advantages,and even the place of leader may also become worthless.
