I have the Bhuric patch for 3.13 up and running, but I still think my f4 screen is broken. I could have sworn that in other games this wasnt the case.

I check the "resources" page often, and keep an eye out on the surplus line.
I noticed only recently that I had 2 fish because I moused over the fish icon and saw that "I had two". Two? But there was no surplus in the surplus line. I forgot that I had got some from my last war a few centuries ago.

Then I notice that sometimes, but not always, some (but not all) "surplus" metals are shown as surplus in the surplus line, although I have Creative Constructions (and hence they arent really surplus).

Now its the late game and there is so much stuff that I cant tell what is what anymore. Does anyone know what is up with the f4 resource screen? Is it only me?

Having a Corporation doesn't effect what's considered a surplus resource. You can have a gazillion resources that a Corporation needs and still be able to trade them away.

OK thank willem, fair enough.
But the other resources, such as fish, which I SHOULD have in surplus, arent shown as such....

Sorry, I am bumping this thread back from page 9 because I feel it is still a problem.
Does anyone know if there are any issues with the f4 "surplus" bar in 3.13 Bhuric?
The executive summary: I have surplus resources which are NOT being traded and which are not listed in the surplus list. Barring hallucinogentic anamolies or a sudden massive attack of ideopathic blockheadedness, what could this be?
thank you

Bhruic's patch is obsolete. Firaxis has released version 3.17.

From what I gather, however, 3.17 has some issues, even with solver's version. Correct me if I'm wrong. I still dont think 3.13 Bhuric is "obsolete".

And I would still be keen on discussing the original question...

Almost everything that Bhruic fixed in his patch was included in the official patch. Firaxis even thanked him for his efforts on the unofficial version. And most of the changes that weren't included are now being incorporated into Solver's patch. So yes, Bhruic's patch is obsolete. And the issues that have popped up in patch 3.17 have been very, very minor. The only main ones are Barrage promotions not having an effect with Tanks, and the Demographics screen not showing the graph data of other civs if you turn Espionage off. Both of which have been dealt with in Solver's patch.

OK thank you, I will give it a try then after this game. (It's not pre-3.17 compatabile, right?)
I also just heard about the BUG mod, which I have DLed but not yet installed (afraid of "fixing things that aint broken"), if it works with the BUG mod I will do both at once. Maybe the surplus problem will dissapear.

I'm not sure. I've read that some people have had problems, others haven't

There's a small conflict with Solver's patch and the BUG mode though, at least if you're going to turn off espionage in the game. Which is now an option in the custom game settings. Both use versions of the CvInfoScreen.py file which means Solver's espionage fixes might not work if you're using the BUG version of the file. And BUG might not display a number of things, I'm not sure what that screen is used for there, if you're using Solver's version. There's a BUG version that can replace Solver's but it's not included yet with the main installer and was hard for me to find. I never did in fact.

So please expalin again what the problem you're having is. I've reread your original post and your situation is rather vague. Are you simply saying that the number of your resources is correct but that sometimes it's redded out and you can't trade them, is that the problem? If so then it simply means that the other civ already has that resource and doesn't want to trade for it.

I think what I've seen, though I can't swear to it, is this:

When I'm receiving a source of Fish in trade (or as tribute), and then I develop my own native source of Fish as well, it won't show up on the "surplus" line of F4. Mousing over still tells me I have two, in the city screen I have two, and I can trade one away and still have one.

Again, that's just my recollection of funny behavior. If I catch it again, I'll save the game and ask Solver to take a look at it....

This is exactly what I have been experiencing. Apparently, I have a number of surplus items, but they are not shown as surplus. (No, it is a not a question of "redded out" or untradable items.)
