Your the leader of a space expedition to a hostile earth like planet that everything goes wrong. Fortunately as the Leader of the expedition, your automatically granted immunity and the ability to "kick" any of the members out by executing them as life supporting resources dwell.

So in your team of the following members, please state which 1 will be the 1st 1 to go and who will be the last. They got no other specialties except their vocation which they are very good at.

    1) Farmer /horti Specialist
    2) Construction engineer
    3) Movie star/Celebrity/Singer/Entertainer
    4) Politician/Motivation speaker
    5) Geologist
    6) Doctor/Nurse
    7) Soldier/Security Officer
    8) Financier/Banker/Trader
    9) Priest
    10) Computer Engineer/The IT guy

Are the 21 people the only people on the entire expedition?

May I ask why a pro golfer and a celebrity are on the space expedition?

Too lazy to do a straight list. I'll just classify them into groups instead:

Very useful people that I'll want to keep around as long as possible:
    1) Farmer /horti Specialist - he should be working on ways to produce food. With luck, he'll be the one to solve our food resource problem!
    2) Construction engineer - shelter from the elements
    5) Geologist - terrain analysis, search for water
    6) Doctor/Nurse - can't emphasize this enough
    7) Soldier/Security Officer - just in case. You never know if there are other life forms about.
    17) Cook/Chef - he should be thinking of ways to stretch your limited food, and looking for new alien sources of food.

People that can be useful but can be sacrificed if thngs get really desperate:
    3) Movie star/Celebrity/Singer/Entertainer - for morale
    4) Politician/Motivation speaker - for morale
    9) Priest - for morale
    16) Scientist - this one is kinda blurry. You never specified his field. So I'll keep him here.
    18) Production worker/Number 2/(Assistant to anyone) - obviously.

People that can be useful but only if the equipment is still useable:
    10) Computer Engineer/The IT guy - no electricity? Byebye.
    12) Pilot/Driver - no more fuel? Byebye.

People that won't be of much use now:
    8) Financier/Banker/Trader
    11) Insurance agent/Broker/real estate agent
    13) NBA Sportman/Pro Golfer
    14) Cleaner/Sanitary officer
    15) Manager/Businessmen/CEO
    19) Lawyers/Judge
    20) Writer/Photographer/Artist
All of them have skills that are relevant only in a stable, working society. Well maybe except the cleaner but if we're that desperate already I think it's not too much to ask everyone to cleanup after themselves eh?

Well it would be something like this:
    1) Farmer /horti Specialist
    2) Construction engineer
    3) Doctor/Nurse
    4) Computer Engineer/The IT guy
    5) Geologist
These people are all probably going to be running the equipment that keeps us alive
    6) Scientist
    7) Cleaner/Sanitary officer
    8) Production worker/Number 2/(Assistant to anyone)
    9) Cook/Chef
    10) Pilot/Driver
These skills while not vital would be really important and woul probably be havily used
    11) Lawyers/Judge
    12) Manager/Businessmen/CEO
    13) Soldier/Security Officer
    14) Financier/Banker/Trader
    15) Politician/Motivation speaker
    16) Writer/Photographer/Artist
    17) Priest
    18) Insurance agent/Broker/real estate agent
    19) NBA Sportman/Pro Golfer
    20) Movie star/Celebrity/Singer/Entertainer
The rest are just picked on my general feelings on the intelligence needed to be very good at something. We would have little need for thier foremost talents here.

Without even looking at the list, I can tell you right away who's the last one to go. The most attractive female.

I would like to add that instead of executing people as resources dwindle, the correct approach should be:
    (1) establish a defensible base of operations
    (2) scout the vicinity and solve the resources problem

So all the "bottom of the heap" people should now be trained to become something else more useful. The Farmer /horti Specialist could certainly use a bit of help once he can get to plant crops. The Construction engineer could use lots of help. The Soldier/Security Officer could use more grunts when he goes on recon missions into the vicinity...

So some people might get eaten by the Great Bug-Eyed Beast of Traal but at least he wasn't killed on your orders... :D

Well, that goes without saying. After all, we do have a sacred duty to sustain the colony. :mischief:

Oh and Soldier/Security Officer + Cook/Chef is a very important team.

Soldier/Security Officer forages local vegetation and captures local wildlife.

Cook/Chef feeds local vegetation to captured local wildlife.

If it doesn't die, Cook/Chef feeds local vegetation to poor unsuspecting grunt.

If he doesn't die, yay a new food source!

I'd probably kick off the athlete (13), maybe even the insurance agent (11). I'm skeptical of the insurance market as is, but he's even less useful in space. At least the writer can document our travels and create our mythos, and the singer can entertain us. The sports guy... all he's gonna do is kick our ass at basketball. That's not good for anybody.

The last guy I'd kick off is the agriculturalist. Food is pretty much the top priority. I'm convinced we could handle shelter and sanitation if it came right down to it -- hide in a cave and boil some water. Then again, hunting might be easier than I think, and sufficient to feed the small group.

If it wasn't earth like, science would certainly be more important.

Everyone else might have their bad spots, but they at least have a small role to play.

Yeah a lot of these are very situation dependant, particularly
Construction engineer, Geologist, Computer Engineer/The IT guy, Soldier/Security Officer, Pilot/Driver, Cleaner/Sanitary officer, and Scientist

You can kick anyone you want, but just wait untill the coup that starts when people realise a leader isn't contributing much. ;)

Priest first. He'd probably volunteer anyway. In fact, I'd hold a meeting and say "who wants to volunteer to be the first to be killed?" and I'd be very surprised if the Priest didn't pipe up immediately.

First one to be executed would be the lawyer and I'd do it myself.

    Last: 1) Farmer /horti Specialist
    First: 4) Politician/Motivation speaker

All the rest that have rather meaningless skills can be put to work as basic laborers. Heck, even Paris Hilton can be told to carry a bucket of water from point A to point B.

I believe the appropriate term (from BSG original series) is "social aider", yes?

I prefer the Firefly terminology, but I think we understand each other ;)

It would suit her, I guess, since she can't really do much more.
