It's a challenge. But it's worth taking up. The time to pivot away from American products and culture is now. I will never see this country the same way again regardless of what administration comes in in the future. It is time that we say NO to Americans.

Have fun with Valdamir Pootis-tin then... oh wait you're australian, have even more fun with Xinnie the Poo then considering how your govt is outright selling out to the chinese what with that whole Darwin Port thing.

counted twice . It is 51 pairs up there . Did America invade Canada last night ?

I am sure Sweden would be doing the same, if their membership of Nato was pending.
Which may become true in some way, if the US dissolves Nato and takes most of it with it in a new alliance. Regular citizens can act with emotion, but decent politicians surely should be mindful of what may happen.

That is the primary issue, imo, with this stance. There is also a very secondary issue, of a non-political, but merely ethical type: it's rather ridiculous to literally beg to be accepted into an alliance, and then act like you always were there and mattered.

my Canadians have sent around all sorts of sealed envelopes . Dear Europeans , no , there is nothing for you in them .

It seems the 'puppet' is pissing on the 'puppeteer'.

Seriously, the only puppet here is in the White House and the puppeteer is far away in Moscow.

The Danish Government this week announced buying Norwegian NSM seaborne missiles for our frigates, to replace the Harpoon inventory we handed over to Ukraine.

The link states that the U.S. also uses the Norwegian missile. I don’t think this is reflective of a deteriorating relationship.

There's context not mentioned in the link. :)

The government considered buying more Harpoons (additional Tomahawks for the frigates has been on the table since 2018) to replace what was sent to Ukraine. That's not likely to happen, if the frigates will now be updated to launch the Norwegian NSM instead.

I do agree that we shouldn't read too much into it. Politicians are sending messages in obvious ways sometimes.

Is there a Swedish version of McDonald's that has something like the Big Mac?

In Canada we have The Burger's Priest, they have 30+ locations in Ontario & Alberta and are growing. They have the High Priest, which is basically a slightly better version of the Big Mac, in terms of the ingredients and I guess possibly cooking style. Otherwise it looks and tastes like a Big Mac that's been slightly elevated.

So.. Here in Canada we are almost ready to say goodbye to McDonald's. Once Burger's Priest reaches Canadian saturation in all provinces and territories, we will be able to say goodbye to everything except McDonald's breakfast.. Because that is actually pretty good. We're keeping that and renaming it to something Canadian, the rest can kick the dust. Burger King was dead to me 5 years ago and Subway can suck it. Taco Bell fries supreme I will continue eating every 2 years as per tradition. I couldn't order Taco Bell fries supreme in the U.S. without people looking at me like I'm an alien, so it feels Canadian enough. Everything else at Taco Bell is garbage though, except maybe those tacos that have doritos dust on them. We'll take those too and call them beaver dust tacos or whatever. Dairy Queen is not good enough at the cold OR the hot to really warrant a second thought. I mean, they are decent at the cold, but we have Canadian options that do it better. 5 Guys being used in a sentence has never before in my life lead to anything good, so I will ignore them in this case easily.

A&W and Harvey's, Mary Brown's, Pita Pit, Swiss Chalet, a whole bunch of schawarma chains, and lots of stuff I'm forgetting, we are ready here in Canada for the fast food wars with America. Good luck to you Sweden, those meatballs are amazing and I hope you have all your bases covered. We stand with you in solidarity

Only bit of that remotely Swedish was the "å" – the "ø" is Danish, the "û" is German, and no one uses the "ë". Don't mess around with the diacritical marks unless you know what you are doing. :p

But once upon a time there was this:

The Norwegians use 'ø' as well; it's not just us ;)

As for non-American fastfood chains, we have Sunset Boulevard here.
But I would recommend all the non-chain local fastfood shops and pizzerias instead. They're everywhere. There are at least four inside a 2km/1.2miles radius from where I live.

We have proper tascas here.

And tabernas too

I’m surprised I managed to get one right.

Its a puppet state at this point.

Did the Canadian CFC members do something inappropriate language-related to your cornflakes?

This wasn't funny when Trump started. It became less and less funny as time's gone on. Now he wants to annex Toronto.

Could CFC AT LEAST BE SOMEWHAT CIVIL ABOUT THIS?

The ingredients list includes American cheddar.

(btw, I never heard of this before)
