Are the system requiremnts for the game known yet, and if so what are they? I'm going to be in the market for a laptop around the time the game is going to be released and I want to make sure it can handle the game.
I liked my answer better. For max settings on a huge map at, say, 1680x1050 resolution, I'd go for 512mb dedicated video card, 2.4ghz+ (if core-duo style) processor, and 4gigs of RAM as your minimum specs. I'm guessing with a little more power than that it would be smooth as butter.
You can get one that'll play near-anything for about a thousand dollars. I wouldn't spend more than that, especially considering the laptops selling for $1,000 now will be $800 or less when the game comes out.
edit: Also, the game specs aren't out yet. These are guesses, so you can ignore this post.
Yes they are out. They are require a hexcore cpu @ 17ghz, 160gigs of ram and windows 8.
I think im in the clear. Got an Octadeca cpu @ 1337 thz, 666 yottabytes of ram and windows 10.
I just hope that intel 2 core 1.68ghz gforce 7900gt and 4gb ram will be enough for civ 5.
Direct X: they will stay here with saying 9...
I very much doubt it. If it does, it will be a slide show. That's a slow system even by Civ 4 standards. I'd say it's time to upgrade.
But I play Civ 4 with high details, huge maps and 18 civs without any problem.
Civ 5 will no doubt be much more demanding, especially in the graphics area.
Do you think the new Core i3 530 GPU will make it for the graphics?
Or the Core i5 660?
(just in that case no need for vid-card)
Will there be a version for mac?
