Workboat - move on or wait this turn.

By "move on" you mean DoW right?

Yes, dow and we say we take twilight path with some blurb about how we don't have alpha yet or we don't want to do that specific trade.

Straw vote: Leave the work boat where it is another turn while we figure out what to say to SANCTA.
 
If we take into account comments from Provo and Cav scout in the SANCTA thread I make it 4:3 in favour of waiting.

I think we should stall with our workboat treading water until we get Alphabet (which is coming up soon). We can go back and forth about a tech deal, making them think we are seriously interested in a trade but driving a hard bargain.

Then, once we get Alphabet we take a quick look at their techs (before they log on and look at ours) and send a note saying we are going with twilight because unfortunately they don't have the techs we need. We then DoW and transit with the workboat, continuing to give them the hope of a trade of some sort.

I think we should just sail on, because they know very well that Cav got Meditation, if you saw General Ws latest Oracle video where they mocked team Cavaleiros. If we tell them we only want Metal Casting, not Priesthood, they figured out both Team Cavs tech route to monarchy, as well as our technology cooperation, and thus drive them closer to Saturn, even close to MS as well.

The best way is to hide this via the Way of the Twillight (negotiate until we get Alphabet), declare war under the Way of the Twilight, do our trades as we sail through, and then negotiate when we see what is available after we have done our trades.

Worker 1 > keep chopping
Worker 2 (next to Haz) > SW,W to chop
Worker 3 > (on horse) NE,NE,SE, build farm (cancel orders after 1 turn)
Scout > N or NE?
Party Boat > W,S (if no open borders) or SW,SW if open borders are granted.
Aktau > :whipped: (it is this turn that it can whip) build monument next
Tech > make sure we can get Alpha in 1 turn, but keep tech as low as possible to achieve this
 
I'd go N with the scout, its the same # of unlit tiles either way so the same danger.

We're getting to the point where our scout won't be able to explore and survive much longer. So I'd like to see him explore just a little bit more north to map out the mountains up to the copper. He can then head back to our territory and either fog bust or hang out in one of our cities (scouts give a happiness bonus with Monarchy right?) We have a chariot coming online soon to take over scouting duties.

I am also for using him to explore some more territory.

I don't believe they do give a happiness bonus.
 
Yeah as a recon unit I guess our scout doesn't add a happy bonus. So maybe he should just explore until he gets killed.
 
Or we explore that corner next to him and then use him for fog busting.

worker 2 next to haz needs to rad on the hill before moving....3 turns chop earlier will not change anything, but not roading is a wasted worker turn and wasted turns on trade routes, not to mention possible need for unit movement

I am not even sure we need to use him for chop and not improving deer, since we are not rushing the settler.

I am thinking we will have maths very fast with the alliance, maybe save as many forests as possible..

Also, I think scout should go back where it came from and fog bust there, make sure we get not barbs from that direction...
 
I agree on saving forests for math now, and no need to slave more for a while. Let us grow organically.

If we go to chop that forest we will complete the monument on the same turn Aktau grows to size 2 again. I would suggest we then switch to building a settler.

I still don't see the need to chop monument though....we can switch to settler at size 2 anyway and finish monument after we slave settler....
 
Chopping monument is premature, let us save forests for a bit. Aktau can only work as many tiles as it can handle.
 
It will take 10 turns after monument is completed for the borders to pop.

If we want to do whipping with Aktau then having a 5:food: corn online will come in very handy.

But anyway, simply saying we don't need to chop now doesn't help us decide what to do next turn unless you also suggest what the worker should do instead. And also explain why :)
