Take that Nile! Amazon declared longest river in the world

How could any of this possibly matter? The money those researchers used could have been used for so many other things.

Exactly. Like trying to dig so that the sources of the rivers could be further inland. Imagine the Nile flowing all the way to South Africa then north around West Africa and back to Egypt.

EDIT : Having researched the matter somewhat further, it seems the Brazilian study is the third to point at this new source to the Amazon (backing two earlier studies of the NG), so it has some non-nationalistic credibility.

I'm thinking egypt declares the nile starts somewhere in Peru.

I've been waiting for this day to come. Wow, what incredible news! Seriously, the Amazon is a hundred times cooler than the Nile, except for the hippos and crocs, maybe Brazil coul import some of those.

No way, dude, the Nile is soo much cooler. Zebra-eating Crocs, giant hippos, animals fighting over who gets a drink, and then there's that huge stone cat on one bank...

But does the Nile have man-eating piranhas?
Certainly eating a man is way cooler than eating a zebra. The Amazon also has Anacondas, though they only eat people every now and then :p
