Is there a way to "isolate" my favorite parts of a modpack, turning them into smaller standalone mods? I have several modpacks that don't run well together, but would like to take my favorite parts from each one--

  • From Terra Nostra and the Ancient Mediterranean Civs Pack: Can I "port" the 3-4 civilizations I use most, turning each one into a freestanding mod?
  • From Echoes of Ages: I especially enjoy some of the new technologies, buildings and (especially) Wonders from the early game; can those be turned into freestanding mods so that I can add them "a la carte"?

If there isn't a tutorial on isolating components, there should be--how many other players out there are running 2-3 conflicting modpacks to get their favorite parts at the same time? :goodjob:

There isn't a tutorial on removing your favourite parts from a mod because there isn't very much useful to say about it. it is difficult to explain precisely what to do because of different coding styles.

In any case, it is pretty easy to snip the relevant material for buildings and wonders. It is slightly more time consuming for civs, but no less easy. I don't know about techs because I've never modded techs.

Anyway, what you should do is look for the relevant material inside the mods for what you want to take out. It shouldn't be too difficult, since Kael's modding guide tells you the necessary components for making a mod anyway. If you get confused or need more help, post on these forums again.
