I was wondering would it be possible for the Irrian’s to have Taranis the Unchanging instead of the standard Immortal from what I have read in his civipedia entry in age of ice he is fully Immortal due to being the personification of stasis.

I was thinking he could be the somewhat stronger than the standard Immortal around 11 :strength: to 13 :strength: plus 2 cold damage but like Golum’s though he’d be incapable of gaining promotions but he would start with the promotions Immortal, Cold immunity, either Angel or Demon and possibly Magic Immunity

I was also wondering would it be possible to have him as a rebuildable Hero possibly though a Ritual which you can only use when you don’t already have him

I don't really see Taranis himself returning, as he was slain in the Age of Ice (at least when I played the scenario he always was :p)

In my version, I add an "Heir of Taranis" Immortal UU. Its base strength is very low, but it has 4 Ice affinity and heals completely after every combat; the unchanging nature means they cannot be injured in battle, so must be completely destroyed twice in one turn while at full strength in order to really die. Like other Immortals it cannot be built directly but must be upgraded from a lesser unit with a high enough level, but it has no unitcombat; thus, they can get promotions before upgrading but can learn nothing afterward. Priests of Winter also gain the ability to upgrade to Heirs of Taranis.

The healing after combat plus Immortal must make them godly on capital defence you’d only ever need 1 there especially if you take your time to nurture them before upgrading.

Sure. But they will still be nothing more than tasty snacks for horsemen (cold immune), Avatar (too strong) and the big lizards (Eurabatres owns even though he is a bit...anticlimatic).
