Yes, we need the luxuries, several of our cities revolted the last turns

But maybe if we decide to start building temple's ,or imposing Martial Law by building a lot of unit's. (preferably explorering unit's) ,we could lose those luxury's.

I am in favor of imposing martial law.

That mean's i want some city's to start building trireme's and horsy's.

And while we almost have 4 caravan's ,why not choose a wonder or two to build.

Martial Law! Martial Law! As the sole member of the CDB, I wholly support martial law to stem the tide of the rebels who might harm our beloved civilization!

Wonders we shall build- Great Library, Michelangelo's Chapel

Could tax be brought down and science up a noch without going into deficit? If not I would say maintain the status quo (and try an reduce the need for luxuries).
Edit: Spelling

Yes, I agree. Its nothing a mailed fist cant fix. :hammer:

I suggest we build the Great Library and raise the science rate.

What about the whole discussion of the Great Library crippling our science rate. I remember AoA or Hippo (sorry if I'm pointing to the wrong person) giving us a lecture on why we shouldn't build the Great Library.

Edit: It was Duke who listed the disadvantages of the GL. I quoted him in the proper thread about the next wonder.

I think we should keep it the same until we build units for martial law, at which point we can lower the luxuries. If we build units to use for exploration, we can keep them in our cities as martial law until our fleet is ready to transport them. During this time we'll make some discoveries and then be able to build improvements or wonders to keep our people happy once the exploration units leave.

We might lower the tax rate a notch, but having money around is always a good thing when you're fighting to complete wonders first.

Why the hell are we wasting LUXURIES in an monarchy? Egad man! Martial law is the solution!

Well ,if the people had decided to build more unit's then we could have had already imposed martial law. ;)

The people decide ,not me...

About the great library:...

Look, it's about understanding Civ's science system.
Every time you discover something, the value of next research
goes up.

Because of that, there are several 'crap' -techs, which you don't need
in an early stage of game, and which computer discovers.

With Great Library, it would take AGES for discovering Monotheism.
