Team needed for Animal Kingdom Scenario

In this mod (That hasn't started yet) you play as on of the continents (Africa, Asia, Europe, N. America, S. America, and Antarctica (maybe taken out)). You start in the Dino age and research up to modern animals. There are no common units, each continent gets it's own animals. It will be played on a world map. If there is anything I need to tell people please say so.
 
Typically the best step is to make the first few versions of the mod yourself. If people play and enjoy the mod they may be willing to help out with its creation, but they are unlikely to sign up to do work unless someone has already shown that they have invested enough to show that the idea can work and is fun.

Well, I can't do that. My art ability is 0. So I can't make it all by my self.

You dont have to make it all. You just have to make as much as you can on your own and show people that it is fun. It doesnt have to be complete, just enough to play to get people excited. If you have to use placeholder art while you are working on it that is fine.

BtW, Fall from Heaven has a lot of animal art in it you are welcome to use. Tigers, gorillas, jackels, baboons, giant turtles, etc etc.

It will be a lot of work, but I'll try. Are you talking about FFH 2, the original or FFH: FF. And I take it you want to see something like that before you do anything.

Im talking about FfH2.

But come to think of it FF may have some dinosaur like units you can use to start out. FfH2 has a sea serpent unit that would make a nice dinosaur too.

And I take it you want to see something like that before you do anything.

Im not sure what you mean by this, Im not offering to join the team, just offering advice to help you get started.

Of course I would rather see you working exclusively on the World 2009, but that's because I'm selfish. :D


Kael has given you some great advice. What I would do if I were you:


-take all the non-animal units out of the game.

-add all the animal units you can find. As mentioned, there are great ones in FFH2 you can use. I have also seen several others in the unit graphics forum here. You should be able to find a dozen or two units that already exist that you can use.

-upload the mod in this form, and let people check it out.

-make a list of other animals you would like to include, and try to find artists who will make them. As Kael says, once you have something to show, people will be much more likely to contribute.

I'm trying to make a mod for myself which allows you to play as animals + diseases in the world played by AI, but I have huge issues without dll knowledge and very limited python, so it's far from being playable.

I'm trying to make a mod for myself which allows you to play as animals + diseases in the world played by AI, but I have huge issues without dll knowledge and very limited python, so it's far from being playable.

Sure, anything you want, thats what Kael has taught me.:p
 
this is going to be easier than I thought. Thanks Stratagyonly. BTW I downloaded it and I can't choose "Animal Empire" from the lists of civs.

EDIT: DVS have we finished the civs for the World 2009 yet? If not if strategyonly really means anything you want. He might be able to make civs for us.

Do you know how to use modular loading? If not look at my Vampire Civ, i believe around post # 10 it says how to use.

Never heard of modular loading. What is it? I replaced all the files that were in the zip, but it still doesn't work. I'll check it out.

Civs are finished, but if he wants to help with the World 2009, there a still a number of things a guy with his skills could help with...

However I'd wager he has enough on his plate as it is, look at how many projects he has on his own.

I just played a quick game and had it to 100 turns no problem at all, in the instructions you MUST follow the instructions to the tee, ok, otherwise it wont work correctly.:rolleyes:
