tercios came out of nowhere

so im playing as germany. and spain is my vassal. all of the sudden, tercios keep showing up in my cities. 3-4 per turn. and it keep happening. i have an insane amount of tercios.

what has this effect? and how do i get it to keep happening always?

You've probably built Topkapi Palace. It let's you build your vassals' UUs.

i have built it. but i thought that it just allows you to build them, not, that they constantly appear on their own?>

This seems odd. Do you have a savegame?

The Topkapi Palace should turn a generic unit into a UU of one of your vassals. So if you build a Musketman with Spain as your vassal, it will turn into a Tercio.

Ofcourse, the units shouldn't appear out of nothing, no matter if you have the Topkapi Palace or not.

my guess would be that Spain gifts you surplus units, although I can't remember that happening before

that could be happening. i had some cities building musketmen. ill see what happens if i stop them all from building that

ah yep, thats what was happening. i didnt think topkapi would work like that. i thought they would be available in the build order.

The unit you build shows up as the vanilla unit. Only when you finished the unit, it will turn into the UU.
