Since Billybones is the only applicant for the deputy possition. I shall place him in his new position as deputy.

-suggestion about goals

perhaps we should set more offensive and aggressive goals, such as stacking archers and GS in our city(ies), and then thrashing neighbors/english with them once we meet them, if El Justo approves. We also need to work on convincing civplayah to get IW quite quickly, to make sure we get the iron connected quickly, with the promise that we do not use the GS until he feels that we are ready for a GA.

Personaly, we should use archers sparingly. Especialy if the other civs chuck swordsmen at us. Using only archers would be waging a poorman's war. We should not neglect building our own unit of swordsmen for a time when we realy need it.

we can use our gallic swordsman if we need to, but only if we need to until we get republic or monarchy. after that, we can go on the pounding with 'em :hammer:

Search and destroy.......specifically, if we see Swords from an enemy, their Iron must be pillaged. GSes are nice, but very pricey at a time when maybe only our capital is at 10 spt. Our first war may be with Archers if it is early.

On any difficulty level, they can't properly chuck swordsmen at us. an attack can easily be fought off. even easier if we use archers properly, sending them outside. A few later posts by dexters in this thread might help a bit with manipulating the AI if necessary.

Looks like we shall have a Warrior during the next turnchat, but only one before we build a settler. We need to find somewhere for that Settler to build a city, but that will leave Tara undefended. We must find somewhere with more food to settle, scouting along the river seems a good bet, although hopping onto the mountain for an extended look is also a possibility. It looks from the minimap that we are in the north, so following the river SW may be better, using highground on the way to get better range.

Instructions 3/19

Have the warrior explore in a southwesterly direction following the river. If goodie hut is spotted, don't pop it just yet due to having a lone warrior exploring and an undefended settler and city. The next warrior shall provide defense till spearmen can be built.

The warrior will need to find a new city site, it can't wait around for the settler, it may be able to return to pick up the settler once it has found a site, but as we only have one warrior it probably means that the settler will be unprotected for at least some of the route to the new site. We're leaving our capitol unprotected after all!

after the second warrior is finished, we have the common problem of defense or exploration. we can leave one (or both, for that matter) of our cities undefended and explore, or we could halt exploration briefly until the second city builds a warrior.

wrong thread for posting instructions. the right thread is here.also, what about the settler that will get built? what should it be protected with?

Well at the time I posted the instructions, I was on my lunch break and the TC instruction thread was not posted. I can look into what the protection of the settler. I can have the next warrior escort the settler in qestion.

We may have to forego the protection part of the plan early on. We will need our Warriors to explore new city sites. Keeping them at home by the fire is probably not a good idea.

It looks like our Warrior exploring SE along the river may soon reach the coast, if that is the case, there is another river north of Tara that should have some good potential city sites, perhaps if the coast is reached he should then head N to reach the other river and explore back along that for a way. He doesn't have to walk along the river bank, but needs to keep a little distance to maximise the land explored.

10/4. That was my basic plan. :)
